ObjectDock V3.x Flyout Menus

I have been using ObjectDock since its initial release decades ago.  I upgraded to V3.01 when it came out for full support running on Windows 11.  The issue I have is under 3.x there is no longer any way to create a NEW flyout menu.  All existing flyout menus (including those that come with a bare bones installation) work just fine.  All of the flyout menus I have had for decades work just fine.

But there is no longer a choice to create a new one.  How do I create a new one?  And please don't respond that this option was removed as it wasn't/doesn't work under Windows 11.  That is clearly not the case.  I really don't want to have to go back to OD2 Plus.

I really would like to know how to create a new flyout menu.  Please advise.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Just to confirm, are you referring to this flyout menu?

If so, please try this setting. Right click on the folder dock icon->Setting->"Edit this shortcut"->Dock Icon properties open up and tick on "Show folder in a menu"

Thank you.

No.  Incorrect.  I want to create my own custom flyout menus ... give it a name, then assign various programs and create a custom menu.  All things that you could do in all versions prior to version 3.x.

I found a way to manually accomplish this by manually editing the CurrentTheme.ini file.  But I shouldn't have to do this.  All versions prior to V3 allowed you to create custom flyout menus.

It would appear that this choice was removed from V3.  I am trying to figure out why?  This is absolutely the ONLY reason I purchased this software.  Without this ability, the software is more or less useless.  I don't want to stick individual icons for individual programs on a launch bar.  I want cascading flyout menus, allowing me to group like programs together.

Basj, I have seen you reply to similar postings insisting that this stuff doesn't or never existed, or doesn't exist now because V3 doesn't support certain features.  THIS IS 100% WRONG.  All these features work just fine, IF you created them within V2 and then upgraded.  It would appear that the choice for this type of "object" has been removed, even though anything pre-existing still works fine.

Why is this?  Can this feature be added back in to the software please.

I think it best if you could post a video of this happening in your ObjectDock 3 so we understand which part you're referring to.

Thank you,

I'm encountering the same problem. There used to be an add 'Flyout Menu' docklet, from the pop-up menu for adding items to the ObjectDock.  Here is the Properties dialog that i can still access from an existing Flyout Menu:

Here, I clicked on the icon (with the red arrow), and the items in the red box would 'fly out', and then spread in the arc fashion, giving this visual result:

Here is the pop-up menu with the expected location for the 'Flyout Menu' Docklet:

This is a wonderful feature, please restore it.

Thank You.

Hello, I have found simple solution, just manually edit CurrentTheme.ini file in AppData\Local\Stardock\ path

add next text on the end of file (but don't forget change right Item numbering)

[Item(1-23)]

Type=Flyout

Target=My Computer

UsePopup=0

nEntries=3

Title=Internet Browsers

Image=.\bundled images\misc icons\internet.png

next you can manually edit menu directly on your objectdock (name change, add shortcuts, icon and so on...)

Hope this will help you :)
