v2.92 Opponents missing after map creation

I've been trying out the new 2.92 version including megastructures. I play on a medium sized map with 8 opponents, 1 sector. This is the classic gameplay experience that I want. After a while, I noticed that there were only 4 opponents, not 8. The game somehow has "swallowed" the 4 other races and they never made it to the map.

After this has happened to me for the 2nd time, I started a new game with "Cartograph" to see the homeplanets of the other species. Yep, always only 4 opponents on the map. I tried it with only official races and changed the star density settings around a bit on a medium map, always with the same result.

Stardock, please look into this. I can post screenshots if you like.

Good luck and a happy winter time

If you look at my post in feedback, I too had a problem with incorrect settings.  I confirmed I was broke so after reinstalling the game 3 times, I'm fixed.  If you have the bandwidth and don't mind setting the game up again, you might try to reinstall.  I left a few setting on my computer and that's why it took 3 times I think but I deleted every file and pref on my comp this time.

Personally, I would do this with your problem and expect it to be fixed even if it takes more then once.  There's no much to go wrong in a reinstall. Good luck, after Stardock gets back if your still broke surely they can help you.

Hello! To help the team look into this for you once they are back from break, could you provide a related save with a screenshot of settings used? Ill get it noted for them

Yeah there is a known issue which the team is aware but won't be able to tackle directly until early January due to the holiday break.

For the time being, I made a mod that will fix the issue. You can download it at https://www.galciv4.com/mods/manager

Look for BugFix Singular Map Gen V1.0 for the fix.

To install and use it, simply unpack the zip file content in your mod folder found at %userprofile%\Documents\My Games\GalCiv4\Mods and enable mod in the launcher by checking "Enable game mod support" in MODS. Also make sure in game that Mods are enabled in the option menu under gameplay.

If you want to test it, you can tick the Enable Cheat Console in the options under gameplay and open the console using ~ or the key you have set for it in key bindings. Type fownc. This should reveal you the whole map and show you the game distribution right from turn 1.

I tried a completely new install on a Laptop that never had GC4 installed. I also tried to "repair" the game via Steam. Both lead to the same result, if more than four opponents are selected on a single sector medium map, only 4 of them spawning are in.

Below you can see my galaxy settings, 8 opponents selected and only 4 spawning in. I don't know how to upload a savegame directly here. However, as Draver has already posted a mod that fixes the issue (many thanks), you better go and talk to him.
