I have dual screens, is there a way to put ObjectDock on the second one?

you can set od to be always on top in the z-order, me thinks?

also, you could drag OD over onto the second display, but not have two instances of OD running on one system, unless your using virtual computers with vmware or some such...

at least I think you could do it at that point..?

I dun think you can drag OD to the 2nd display IPlual, at least it's never worked for me...

hmm, I'll have to try it with nView when I hook up my new display tuesday...

nView has an option to *send spplication to second display* in it's menu...

dunno if ATI has something sim or not, but if it does someone might try and see?

I have the same problem, and you don't get the nView options to be able to send it over. This is really frustrating me. My life would be much better if I could get Object dock over to monitor #2. Anyone figure this out yet?

Is there any way a VDM could have it on the second monitor??

SpecialFX - I was looking at just the same thing the other day and I came up with a solution...swap everything else to the opposite monitor and then physically swap the two on the desk (actually, swap the cables as it's easier)...then use the Windows display tool to tell it the 2nd monitor is on the left not the right..

Çërêb®øJÐ - I don't think so, as you don't change which one is the primary monitor. So, OD is still being displayed on what Windows calls screen 1 - it just happens that you've switched them around.

Just checked, and it works for me I didn't physically switch the screens, but they logically displayed and behaved as I expected (it's confusing as hell to move off the left of the left screen and appear on the right of the right one!)

As long as you can switch everything else you'd like to the other monitor, then this will solve the request....the windows task bar BTW can be dragged from screen to screen if people hadn't noticed (I'm probably running Egg sucking 101 saying that...)

yeah, but my thing is that my one monitor is way superior to the other. It's a 19" LCD compared to a 17" CRT. I really don't want to have to switch all my other stuff. Or am I missing something in your post? (drinking beer and solving computer problems = not reccommended

SpecialFX - you're missing something as if you follow what I suggested you should end up with the same things on the same screens now EXCEPT OD which will have switched...er...I think...It was last night when I wrote the tip and I've not thought it though again, but I'm sure that was what I was thinking and tested last night...it seems a long time ago now!

in other words, don't think of monitor 1 as monitor 1 anymore. if object bar only displays on the primary monitor, simply switch their positions on the desk so that the primary monitor is on the left. then drag all of your normally primary monitor stuff to the right - except of course for what you want to remain on the side. in your display properties, you also have to tell windows that the monitors are now physically in different positions (so when you drag the mouse off the screen it goes to the next one). just don't change which one is your primary monitor.

another example is ... i have a 27" monitor.. 800x600 res, only really good for watching dvds. but my dvds, on that video card, would only play on the primary monitor. so i worked 90% of the time on my SECONDARY monitory which happened to be a 19" trinny. stuff like object bar still styed on the primary monitor, big for the world to see.

So just to clarify, we have yet to find a way to switch which monitor is it on while keeping the monitors in the same location as they are now, or switching the cables?

SpecialFX er- yes...OD can be moved to the monitor of your choice using this method, and you can keep everything else you want on the other monitor too, but it does invove switching the cables at the PC end. It only takes a couple of minutes though.

OR...there might be an option to switch which one of your displays is the "primary" one without doing anything else (I think I've seen this in some setups)...but I couldn't tell you where this option might be on your set up...it could be BIOS, it could be in the driver, or it might need a 3rd party tool.

Personally, I'd go with the option here as it works, it's free, and I don't think it'll have any bad consequences (Bad rather than none, as you kight see your boot and screens on the other monitor too)...
