Known issues

While we appreciate all feedback, please remember that we offer no official support for beta \ preview \ developer channel versions of Windows. If you report issues while in any of those early release channels, you should not expect them to be addressed unless it still exists in a retail version of Windows.

Win+Number does not work as intended. Feels like something pinned there.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_n0JxoovZOIftWwspYLiBeb2RuAjru4X/view?usp=sharing

After enchasing when I am pressing Win+6 its opens explorer and when Win+7 its definitely opens something(look at cursor)

Then I did move some windows in the end and after that its shifted to Win+5 and Win+6

To show you which keys I was pressing i did use keyviz but its unrelated cuz I did download it only for this video specifically.

I did notice it first time I did purchase the program around 6 months ago but it was so unexplainable so I did move on. Now its usually stuck on Win+2 cuz I have only one item pinned and its annoying when I am trying to relate on hotkeys more.

Let me know if I can do something to help

It's like I reported in November/2023. With the current version I can pin Windows Terminal using Start11 and the correct icon is there, but when I click, it opens Windows Explorer, not Windows Terminal. This only happens when I enable enhanced taskbar. Now I have to use enhanced taskbar because the right-click (top taskbar) is not working without it, so I need to choose a bug.

Not sure if you're talking different "Terminal" but I can pin it to taskbar and open it correctly with Start11 enhance taskbar turn on. Refer my short video below.

Same Windows Terminal. Look:

EDIT: I uninstalled and reinstalled Start11 and WindowsTerminal, and tested with another user in the same PC. Same problem. I will continue search for a reason for this problem. It's weird because only happens with enhanced taskbar.

Having issues with secondary monitor top taskbar again with latest cumulative update on windows 11.  I have Enhanced Taskbar on and right clicking taskbar icons on the secondary monitor does not seem to function again.  Sometimes the right click menu appears at the bottom also for the main monitor.

So we would live to see the ability to change the Search Results Box on the taskbar with the same customization like the start menu

as of now it's only possible to have Dark or Light Mode ( Black or White)

So now the customization apply to the Taskbar and Startmenu but not to the searchbox which would be a big +

From your video look like you have your taskbar at the top with custom start button image, how you do that?

My mistake, yes, it can be done. I was looking at something else. Moving forward. Please try Cleanboot: https://forums.stardock.com/505872/start11-support-faq#cleanboot.

The cleanboot didn't help. But I fixed the problem deleting an old file named "Microsoft.WindowsTerminal_8wekyb3d8bbwe_App" in "AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar". Thank you for you help !

Using Nilesoft Shell we need to access the windows 11 built-in right click on the taskbar how do we change the start11 to let us use the regular built-in win 11 Right-Click using shell 3rd party ?

Windows Explorer provides all the challenges we can handle.  Support for 3rd party shells is not likely going to materialize.

The Nilesoft Shell works perfectly with Start11the only issue is context on the taskbar

you addressed the start button issue with option to enable win+X which is default win 11 why can that just implemented anywhere on the taskbar

please check the right click option in start11 taskbar settings

I am afraid due to how Nilesoft shell works we cannot support that for that particular situation.  We did look into it long ago but it wasn't possible to get them to detect our menus.

Hey haad a similar issue with the menu showing the preview of a different pinned app to the one I was hovering over. Try disabling Satrt11 Taskbar make sure all pinned icons in default taskbar are matching to Start11 config and re-enable Start11 taskbar. See if this works.

Try adding this string to the Registry at

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Start8\Start8.ini\Start8

Name it:

S11_UseOldRightClickMenus

and set the Data Value to 1

Restart your computer to effect this change.

This was added by Support a while back to allow the use Win32 menus on right-click on the taskbar to allow third-party extension of the menu.

As always, create a Restore Point or back up the Registry before making any changes.

Please report back with the results.

EDIT: I see you reported at

https://forums.stardock.com/527567/page/1/#3943596

that this registry edit doesn’t work.
