This sequel is fantastic

and you should feel good

I saw this show up on the steam store when I logged in the other day, and immediately bought it.

You have somehow made one of my favorite games of all time even better. Improvements like:

  • New resources (rarity tokens) that tune down cap ship spam as an early-middle strategy
  • It's gorgeous while still being faithful to the source material. Voice lines persist!
  • Research curve for higher levels is appropriately steeper
  • Trade ports! Trade slots! Refactored away the "longest chain of contiguous trade ports wins" pattern
  • Autoplacement AND ORBIT ROTATION. ARE YOU KIDDING ME THAT IS GLORIOUS no more peeking the otherwise immobile starbase. Gonna rotate these riiiiiight on top of you. Welcome to orbits!
  • Technical gibblets like no longer being bound by single hardware thread, which despite having the fastest computer I could buy at the time of Sins1 it would bog down in large games.

Thank you for making this. It feels like someone gave a shit.

I’ve been playing since the day Sins 1 came out, and I kept playing it until the day I learned about early access for Sins 2. I bought it twice, so the friend I played Sins 1 with could play with me, and we’ve both been playing since TEC-only. And I hate TEC.

I think I’m most excited by the end of the trailer. Worlds of all races going dark. It has to be the Vasari’s pursuers, yeah? We need more lore. I wish there was a campaign.

A campaign is announced as the fourth expansion (included in the premium edition/expansion pass)

That’s awesome. Can’t wait to find out who is hunting the Vasari. Only been waiting like 20 years. Take my money.
