I am also experiencing the same issue with the Widgets Icon missing with KB5041587 installed. If I turn off Start 11 and use the normal Windows Taskbar, it seems to no longer be a Widgets Icon, but its similar to the weather icon that was used in Windows 10.

Edit: Doing the Widget Shortcut (Win+W) Brings in the Widget Bar from the right, so this might be because of a change in functionality within Windows 11.

I have updated to v1.55 but now when I right click on the taskbar it hangs for about a minute or so and I cannot select any of the submenus while it is hanging

Hi,

I have upgraded from v1.55 to v2.1 but having an issue with the the Quick Access menu spacing on items such as "Universal Applications".

Previously with v1.55 the menu spacing for these sub menus was small, but now with v2.1 it is either normal or large.

This is the same with all Quick Access items with "Display As Menu".

With v1.55

v1.55

With v2.1

v2.1

Windows 11 22H2 (OS Build 22621.4037)

Is this a bug as I can't find any settings to change this back to small or tiny spacing?

Thanks

Can only provide anectdotal evidence but my WIN11 machine worked fine until upgrading to V2 then is slowed down like crazy.  Menu flyouts very slow as if mouse and keyboard input were busy buffering.

Outlook email displays very, very slow to update.  Changing Outlook Folders also very delayed.

Changing apps to Excel also painfully slow.  Entering Excel data very delayed.

No other updates of any kind.

Rebooted several times, no change frustrated removed Stardock completely and regained normal functionality

Pls advise when an update is available.

Been using the product couple months, I like but like so many other products for Windows shame on me, why update when nothing is broken.

Hello,

I gives my very high CPU usage, the fan is running at high speed 8C

If I turn off the Start11 service, the PC becomes quiet again !

BTW ; it's strange cause in Process Explorer I do not see any process making high usage of CPU ;P

Thanks.

Did it, but same behavior cames back. :waaaa:

Now, I uninstalled it for a few days, and my PC remains calms !

So, Start11 really seems to be the problem :annoyed:

[Edit] I did uninstall process again, using CCleaner to fully clean the PC. Same problem back after  a few minutes.

It's a problem with the latest update.

Other users have detected that it is due to ARM compatibility.

They should read all the threads and give prompt and expeditious attention to the users.

I have that problem.

I have that problem.

It is nothing to do with ARM compatibility.  Thats an entire separate set of files.

This isn't a bug as v2 has different menus used for those which fit the style better.

You are able to revert to the old ones however using a registry key located here :

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Start8\Start8.ini\Start8

It is called S11_UseOldStyleBrowseMenus and needs to be created as a string with a value of 1 and then sign out and in again.

Set Widget button "on" from the Task Bar setting of Windows11.

But... location of the Widget button can't be controlled by Start11's enhanced task bar. I have center-aligned task bar icons, but the Widget button is not aligned, shown only on the right side of task bar. This is probably caused from change on latest Windows11 about the Widget. Too bad.

Not even seeing the widget anymore since 2.1

With centre taskbar this is normal.  Being right aligned means there is too much on the right hand side of the screen.
