Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know few more information.

  1. Windows full version and OS build number. Use Winver.exe.
  2. Start11 Enhance taskbar turn on or off?
  3. Taskbar size setting?
  4. Taskbar auto hide turn on or off.
  5. Any other 3rd party Taskbar software installed. Such as Displayfusion, StartAllBack, WindowPatchers etc?
  6. Issue only on Telegram Windows? and from your screenshot that preview popup is not on telegram?

Thank you.

Windows full version and OS build number. Use Winver.exe. 10.0.26100.1301
Start11 Enhance taskbar turn on or off? on
Taskbar size setting? medium, desktop DPI 140%
Taskbar auto hide turn on or off. off
Any other 3rd party Taskbar software installed. Such as Displayfusion, StartAllBack, WindowPatchers etc? only Start11 & Actual Window Guard
Issue only on Telegram Windows? and from your screenshot that preview popup is not on telegram? Yes, the preview popup in the screenshot is over the current Telegram desktop app. I only blurred the content. This doesn't actually happen in other apps that I know of.

Hello,
Just to confirm, you on Windows 11 v 24H2 (OS Build 26100.1301), yes? If so, I can't test your issue on my system since I am still on the regular release version v 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3958). However, I have forwarded your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Thanks

Are you able to test this on a released version of Windows and \ or with Actual Window Guard off?

I can test it with Actual Window Guard set to off, but it is also active with all other applications and the problem does not exist there. However, I cannot test another Windows version.

Well, you know how we have to treat Windows Insider builds but we appreciate the report just the same.

I know that, but Windows 11 24H2 26100.1150 is already retail and is shipped on laptops. The 24H2 26100.1301 update is also in the Release Preview as well as in the retail channel at 24H2 ;-)

I will test later without AWG...

ARM devices only and I certainly would not consider that 'released' since their footprint is tiny in comparison.  If I were less kind to MS, I would say they are using them as continued beta testers.

That is not to say that we are not looking at your issue, we are, its prioritized with all this in mind.

Hi Rainman74,

Just so it's clear what we're testing here, I understand the issue being: when you move your mouse away from the preview, the preview window is getting stuck and won't go away?

When the Telegram Windows app window is open and the previews of the other apps are displayed at the bottom via mouse over, these previews no longer disappear by themselves when Start11 is activated.

Tested in Win11 Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.1301) here.

  • Set the DPI to 140%, and
  • Configured Start11v2.08 with the settings specified in your post in Reply #2.
  • Installed Telegram and have it open.

Please see my video of my attempt to reproduce, and let me know if this is what you are doing, or if you notice anything different that might be causing anything unique on your end:

If this isn't what you're getting and the issue remains, we might need a more stable baseline for testing.  Could you share an export of your Start11 settings?  Either that, or you could use the "Reset settings" feature under the "Settings backup" tab in Start11 to try again on your end and report back with a baseline of settings closer to the default for the software.  You'd be able to backup your settings to a file for restoration before trying this.  This is further explained here.

Thanks much,

Hello, yes exactly! The only thing I noticed in your video is that you don't use the "system window" option in Telegram. There is another setting here.

In your video, the previews close by themselves, as they should. They stay open for me. But I tried it again today and, strangely enough, I couldn't reproduce it. I'll check whether there have been any updates and next time I'll check whether and in what context the previews remain permanently "stuck". Many thanks for your great help so far!
