AI factions build too much fast and too much

Hi. I have been thinking if I should create this thread or not for days. The reasons, they are how I like everything added in the game, clearly a lot of improves compared to the previous sins of a solar empire, the most notable are the graphics, much better now and I am not speaking from ships, the ship models always were good with very good shaders. I speak from things as the game menus, there are a lot of new graphics at that, a lot of work.

But there is one thing that I am not sure if it is good. I speak from the amount of units and how fast they are builded by the AI. Nothing better than an example.

At this battle, I play with a team of two AI set at easy against three AI set at easy. If I had set them at medium....I had been overloaded in the begining.

The problem, perhaps it is how I am a player from the older games and you did not build these amounts in them. By that I have a block in my mind about build these amounts. But I believe how the AI builds faster than me and it is not the unique thing that I do not like.

Destroy an enemy Starbase and Capital ship takes too much time. You must avoid the shield restore, second destroy the armor, next the hull and finally other part from the hull that now I do not remember the name.

At a new battle from the same map, I am playing more hard, building more units and it is very fun, more than ever, but when I attacked a starbase over the capital planet, it was too long firing with four capital ships and in the time that I was firing them, the enemy was conquering all the planets that me and my IA allies were conquering when I attacked that AI enemy at first place trying reach his capital planet.

Just I would recomend the addition from one multiplier to everything helping to the human player when you play against AI set at easy level. Perhaps something in the weapons. Because clearly it was not so easy as before. In the older game I usually played against one medium AI and all the others set at easy in a big map.

Well, just it. Thanks by your hard work.

Hey,

thanks for the detailed description and even a video!
We are aware of easy and medium AI being stronger than people expect them to be, and we will be addressing this in the near future.
Cheers! :)

Thank goodness Zabik.  I just posted an update in a related thread.

Playing on easy I am way slower in general just because I like to turtle and enjoy making less ships to take on larger fleets, by levelling up capital ships, having repair platforms etc.

But even on easy, 20 minutes in, the AI has double my fleet supply in use 55 to 110+ and the are literally a steep staircase on the graph.  So I'm an hour into the game, they have all the plants but my 5, enemy culture is overtaking me, and theres far less slots it seems for logitics now I can't build enough broadcast centers.  And worse, the next two plants from me both are loaded with a starbases, repair platforms, and tons of turrets, plus an enemy fleet I can't even take on because  the repair platforms negate my damage on their capital ships. . . so game over lol.

But my goodness, the game is gorgeous!

Have you tried a larger map, where it takes longer to actually meet the opponent?

Really it does not happens as you think. In the video that I published, you could watch how it was a larger map and after two hours, the enemy attacked me. In fact, very probably your research triggers the attacks from the enemy.

However, I have seen how you can win playing against a easy IA if you are more agressive. Even I enjoy it but I am sure how the AI could be set better because easy should be easy and at this game, there are several AI settings.

Just to add a note here:  Whats really strange is the AI varied wildly from Vasari to Advent as my enemy.  I only was fighting one an an easy map.  I also have watched a couple videos and changed my early game tactics.  I make a battleship, make one colony frigate and then fill the rest of my fleet supply with 8 of the regular autocannon frigates (I forgot what they're called).  I can conquer planets significantly faster and after a couple planets I increase my supply and built even more of the frigates and add in the anti-fighter/anti-missle ones and I'm relatively unstoppable when I run into the AI.  With 20 frigates, its enough to take down a Advent capital ship with ease and minimal losses.

As I fast forwarded and conquered the rest of the map racing to the closest choke point to their base, it turns out they never bothered to expand aside from the one planet I showed up on which they newly conquered and had nothing defending it.

It was just odd, I went from fighting for my life against the Vasari and literally had to rush to cut them off to the AI not doing anything.  The Vasari i played on a 2 player random.  The Advent I played on the bottom 2 player map with lower resources.  I don't know what the difference is but, that early game strategy of fill your supply, make use of your relation points, and use a battleship to start out (not a colony capital ship) turned the game into a cake walk (at least against the Advent) so far.

I did a whole bunch of whining across youtube videos til doing this and now my only real complaint is the stupid research tree.  Once you memorize it its kind fine but it sucks horribly.  The pictures look cool but you cannot figure out what anything is or where it is without pausing the game and going through each.
