Turn off auto-hide animation?

Is it possible to turn off the autohide animation fade? I'd prefer the taskbar to instantly appear when I love my mouse over it.

Are you using the Windows Taskbar setting to Autohide the taskbar, or the Start11 Enhanced taskbar Auto hide?

If you are using the Start11 Enhanced taskbar Auto hide, make sure the Windows Taskbar setting to Autohide the taskbar is turned off.

I don't see taskbar animation using the Start11 Enhanced taskbar Auto hide on my system.

I don't see any animation of the taskbar in your video.

Turn on the Autohide taskbar in the Windows settings and you will see the animation. The taskbar slides up and down, as opposed to popping up and down.

Hello,

I would also like to turn OFF the animation of the taskbar autohide, because is annoying for the menu to pop up faster than the taskbar, when the start11 option to disable animations is toggled on -  this is a design flaw.

I confirm that the windows autohide is disabled and that only the start 11 autohide is enabled.
I confirm that all animations of the windows 11 ltsc that i'm running are turned off.

I'm open to follow through any steps that can help solve this design flaw.

Thank you

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more details on your system.

  1. Windows 10 or 11? Also need its full version and OS Build number.
  2. Start11 full version number.

Thank you,

Great, thank you Basj. I will patiently wait for the team's review.

In the meantime, is there a way to use the Start11 menu but revert to the default Windows 11 taskbar? My theory is that this combination would remove the animation delay entirely.

On a high-performance system, the Start11 menu is instant, so the taskbar's slight animation delay becomes very noticeable. Any guidance on achieving this setup would be appreciated.

From what I understand, if you do not enable Start11 enhance taskbar. Windows 11 will have control on its taskbar.

Thank you for the previous suggestion. I tried it, and it led to some interesting results.

I managed to get the default Windows 11 taskbar running with the Start11 menu after a full reinstall, and it did indeed fix the animation delay. The taskbar is now instant.

Unfortunately, this has brought back another problem. With this setup, whenever I press the Windows key, the Start Menu appears on my secondary monitor, not my main one. I've realized this only happens with my specific display arrangement where my secondary monitor (1) is placed directly below my main monitor (2), as you can see in the first image. If I move them side-by-side (second image), the bug disappears and the menu opens correctly.

This is actually the reason I enabled the "enhanced taskbar" in the first place—it solved this menu placement issue. It seems I can either have an instant taskbar with a misplaced menu, or a correctly placed menu with a delayed taskbar.

I've attached screenshots and a video of both the problematic (stacked) and working (side-by-side) display configurations for your reference.

My physical setup requires my laptop (secondary display) to be below my main external monitor. The side-by-side arrangement, while a good troubleshooting step, isn't a viable daily workflow for me. Therefore, a fix for this bug is necessary for me to use the product properly.

I believe resolving this issue in stacked display environments is crucial for Start11 to live up to its advertised reputation as "The Industry's Most Advanced Start Menu." I consider this a high-priority bug because it misaligns with the Stardock brand identity, and I look forward to seeing it addressed in a timely manner.

Given the details above, could you please forward this report to the Support and Development Team?

Thank you again for all your input, Basj. It is highly appreciated.
