Can't get to a remote session

Hello all!

1) I tried the 30 day license feature and found the product to be okay but obtuse compared to other products such as Remote Desktop

2) I got basic functionality going during evaluation. How to get a window mode of the remote session?? I did get a complete screen.

3) i got a license since the remote computer is running Windows 10 Home.  No remote desktop available.

4) The license is through Object Desktop, I find fences particularly useful

5) After reinstall I go through configuration of Multiplicity. It picks up the reference to the remote computer that I configured during evaluation .

6) Okay at this point I should be set right? Well there is a message that posts saying there is a connection to the remote system.

7) Alright how do I get a remote session hopefully windowed? Just not happening.

8) The odd thing is there is no KVM tab which during evaluation I used to establish a full remote session. Where is it? Also Object Desktop indicates a drop list with configure, uninstall(tempting), etc. Is the KVM button missing because Multiplicity is still in a Configure Mode

9) I get an outline on the perimeter of the primary monitor with Multiplicity label in lower right. Should I be able to interact with it?

Frustrating. I am trying to reorganize space and move the remote computer to the basement.

Frankly and can't say I am impressed with the overall design of the product. The intent seems to be orthogonal design compared to competing products.

I think you may be confusing some things.

Multiplicity has two modes.  Seamless and KVM.

Seamless is used when both computers have monitors and you are sharing keyboard and mouse (and clipboard).  Typically these are next to each other.

KVM mode connects to the remote computer and shows it in a window.  This mode requires the KVM version of Multiplicity.

The version included in ObjectDesktop is seamless only (KM)

Well I evaluated Multiplicity and the demo had KVM. So I extended my Object Desktop license because of it and and Fences which I use. In the product page for Multiplicity it lists three versions all with the KVM in them. In the product description of Object Desktop and then Multiplicity it has the word KVM but I will guess that it is meant that you can remove the KVM equipment. Sigh.

This feels like a bit of bait and switch. I have no use for Seamless as my extra computers will be in the basement while I upstairs. Is there a discount to upgrade to the KVM license? I evaluated it to start with due to a discount sale about a month ago.

Thanks,

Frank

Hi Adam,

I would be satisfied with KVM rather than KVM Pro. I tried to upgrade on the website but got a message that just KVM was not available.

Thanks,

Frank

Hello,
If you click on this button, does it take you to the Upgrade to Multiplicity KVM/KVM Pro page: Email entry box to "Check Eligibility"?

Thanks

It worked on Edge

Ok, so it worked in Edge then and you are good now?

The issue on FF is reproducible with the "uBlock Origin" (content blocking) Firefox Browser extension enabled.  Doesn't occur on Edge, or on FF without this running.

I'm not sure what if anything could be done to avoid this, given how these things function.  I've logged the issue internally to track and help monitor if this sort of thing keeps happening.

Internal Reference: ODNT-8063

Thank you for the feedback.
