SO MUCH FOR TRYING TO HELP PEOPLE! <-- look all caps.
I was just trying to say that everyone is a freeloader. I can't explain that some just can't pay, not that they don't want to, but some people don't want to hear it, so whatever. My mommy taught me to share as a child, apparently yours did not.
I do realize that not everyone is a freeloader, and some just can't pay. However why should you be more entitled to a free ride than the owners of Wincustomize? If they share, why can't you share?
Besides, it's not like you're going to die without downloading stuff from one site.
This is getting bordering on flaming now though, so I'm just gonna shutup.

I sure hope you meant to put the word "not" between "that" and "everyone"! As for the rest of the quote, it's really all about choices. If the choices are as clear-cut as eating or downloading, then that's an easy one. If it's a choice between smoking, drinking, HBO-ing or downloading, then it's tougher. But in those cases, it's not that someone "can't" pay; it's that they choose not to pay. IOW, they "won't" pay.
And sharing? For those who are struggling to eat, 50MB is a generous helping at the virtual download food kitchen. For those who choose to spend their money on other things, 50MB is just generous, period. WC and Stardock and those who post their work here don't need a lecture on sharing from anyone.
Jeff
| I forgot to mention that I'm sure that the b/w bills are high. I have a web site and it wasn't cheap, I understand. I was just trying to explain that not everyone is a "freeloader." |
Fair enough.
Sorry, I think I misunderstood your original post.
Second, I was defending another, now you are accusing me of asking for a freeride? Please read the entire thread before jumping to conclusions.
Third, I agree that 50 mb is a fair amount, as long as you know that before you start downloading, so that you can be more selective.
Fourth, don't call me man. Not everyone here is male.
Fifth, Todd bought a subscription. This is all null and void. Welcome Todd! Maybe I can hook you up with some "free stuff."
I also apologize for wording things a bit sketchily, I wasn't really accusing YOU of a free-ride, it wasn't really directed at anybody.
As for your "This is all null and void"....Why say that after taking out the time to write a post?
That's basically saying "This is exactly why you should believe me, why I am right in this subject. Oh, yes, and this subject is entirely pointless to debate." Contradicting yourself == bad.

Thanks for the Welcome LA Werewolf. Also, thank you for your defense. Some people will just never understand what hard times are. "Freeride" is not in my vocabulary. I also agree that the 50MB download is more then fair but was unaware of the restriction. Good come back on your Fourth and thanks again for your fifth.

I have nothing to do with the running and maintaining of this site, but that's an offensive statement to me. Good manners and common sense would seem to dictate that anytime you are having a go on somebody else's dime that you try to be *very* selective.
Jeff
As far as StardockJeff is: WOW, grasping at straws are we? When I said be selective, I meant, just don't download everything on one page, go to next page - repeat. You must be a very easily offended person, for that was a simple statement.
Todd, I don't like the way you or I have been treated here. I find it insulting on the whole. We need to contact each other somehow. I will gladly give you a copy of my PURCHASED software, which I know is perfectly legal, as long as I don't make profit from it. It will be on MY dime, so others can chill out.

THE END!!!!!
LA Werewolf: huh? You have been mistreated? Because you had an argument with one user? BTW, despite his name, stardockjeff has nothing to do with the Stardock company. He's just another user like you.
stardockjeff: I must strongly ask you to please change youur nickname as it can obviously be misleading for people.
stardockjeff....I agree with paxx....it's time to change your nick to something 'less confusing'.....that WILL be appreciated....
LA Werewolf....generally you will find that all software comes with a version of EULA [End User License Agreement] which prohibits, amongst other things, the unauthorized redistribution of the software. You will be in violation of explicit and inherent copyright. Some software 'may' be allowed to be resold or given away on the proviso that it is a single-use license which means it can ONLY be used by one person and not end up on two individuals' computers at the same time...
LA Werewolf - You can now contact me as I have posted my email for the time being. I have to agree with Koasati and I do not wish to get you in trouble. Thank you for your offer. Maybe in the future, I will purchase further products that I can take more advantage of WC.
stardockjeff1 - I would have been more "selective" of what I was downloading if I had known about the restriction. LA Werewolf was correct when she made that statement.
