consideration of purchase

Hey all. I'm thinkin on purchasing the windowblinds4 on cd for 19.99. I would like IconPackager also. My question is, in ya'll experience, what did you guys do? Should I just go ahead and get the $50 cd? Does it include EVERYTHING? Yes, I have read the "purchase" option on stardock.com but was unsure if it included everything like windowblinds, iconpackager, desktopx, bootskins, etc?

Thanks for your input.

If you get the object desktop package, it contains all that.... and much much more!

For an extra twenty after that you can buy a subscription to this wonderful site, and get yet another great application.... The Wincustomise browser, enabling you to d/l the skins and themes you like, directly thru the browser.

The money spent on the browser directly contributes to the running costs of the site, and you will be doing your bit in helping to "give something back" to the site that gives to you so generously.

I have both, and consider it money well spent.

....Go on ...treat yourself!

I bought the CD and the WC sub. and it was money well spent. I got a lot more than I thought I would, it really is a bargain considering all the cool stuff you get, not to mention all the great support you get from the community. Go For It

I bought the whole object desktop deal, still thinking about whether or not to get a WC subscription, but it's looking better by the day.

The only thing I didn't like about object desktop is that it didn't come with CursorXP

The sensible trick is to try the Trial Windowblinds...to see if the skinning concept will appeal....then purchase Object Desktop as that's the best value-for-money with the Stardock apps [rather than individual purchases] then, when really 'into it' and wanting more involvement and interaction go for the Wincustomize subscription to enjoy it all the more.

Don't dive in all at once because there's no guarantee that it's all for everyone.... that all will get the same enjoyment out of it.  Naturally, here at Wincustomize you'll be swamped with positive opinions [that I share, naturally] but personal experience is the best educator....

Listen to Jafo! And when you do decide to purchase something. Keep in mind, as the others have said, OD is more bang for the buck. If you wanted any 3 products, OD will cost less, and give you so much more. You asked if BootSkin was included, no it is not. BootSkin is a seperate download, and is free, as is LogonStudio.

webgizmos: CursorXP standard is free, but CursorXP Plus is not.

I started with wb, and later purchased the whole package. I haven't been sorry yet. I don't use the whole package, but the components I do use are invaluable to me. like windowsfx, iconpackager, stardockcentral, tab launchpad, and occasionally dx.
I must also note, that while the original price is steep, with renewal the price drops, so it's like a thank you for your original purchase.
I haven't gotten the wc browser yet, if it's in my means to do so, I will. Should've signed on back when it was a straight years worth at 9.95.

Jafo's unbaised and non-money-grubbing response is the answer to every flamer's rant on this board. i'm gonna make it a point to qoute his wisdom when someone comes out of the dust to say this place is trying to rob you blind.

kudas for not being a telemarketer, jafo, and suggesting the trial before a purchase, and saying "its not for everybody".

boo-ya.

those words are true.. but how many people have appeared recently and thrown down a potentially good book without bothering to open the cover first?

the community at large agrees we're here because we enjoy the software we are using, but when you look at the boards they are tainted with rants and raves. its hard to get a good word through that mess without comming off like you are, in fact, just trying to collect money.
