Installing MODS

Hello all
I am probably blind, but id like to add a couple ship mods I saw in this site/forums, but have no idea how to start ?
can some kind soul help out this blind person

Open up the game. At the main menu you'll see this:
That will open this window:
Click on the ship you want to download and you'll see this:
When I click on that, I get the Steam Workshop, how do you download something like a faction from this GalCiv4 workshop?
They changed things in 2.1, looks like that doesn't work any more. There's now a Mods button on the launcher, but that only allows you to download mods, not factions or ships. Hopefully they'll get it fixed when their vacation ends on Monday.
Apologies for bumping an older thread, but I still don't see a way to download anything other than mods from the in-game launcher. How do I download the cool ships I see on this website?
Factions and ships should now be managed through the steam workshop, may I ask what version you're playing, platform, and the issue you are seeing?
