Pirates a bit too overpowered..will stop playing until I can disable them

Will probably stop playing this game and wait until I can disable Pirates, which I often did in the original. As currently configured you spend a lot of your time early in the game doing Pirate management and trying to stay on top of auctions and raids. If you are busy doing something else you miss an auction and then there is a large attack on some planet. These early waves are often lots of heavy cruisers etc that you can't defeat. Also drains a lot of credits and resources before you really get a chance to set up.

There are two types of pirates: auctions and game events.

The auction is won by a player and they can direct a raid's target or even collect a bunch of them and launch them all at one or more targets simultaneously. Depends on their strategy.

The game event pirates will seek out the planet with the highest bounty (you can add bounty to specific planets and convince other players to pile onto the bounty to help take down the leading player, etc).

Which one is causing you problems (auctions or game events)?

Which would you like a setting to disable?

We will also be adding a number of other 'threat' auctions and events that aren't pirates (e.g. Sins1 Stellar Phenomena and Minor Factions DLC packs have a bunch of these). Do you want to be able to disable these too or is it just pirates?

The auctions mostly but I also have to spend a lot of credits if I want to raise the bounty outside of the auctions. Often an auction will start and I don't notice and I miss. Then an attack starts when I am just getting set up. Just a lot of work early in the game to keep ahead of the pirate situation. At the moment I try to wipe out the pirates as soon as I can, which again takes a lot of effort.

Never liked the pirate feature in the original game and it adds nothing to the new one. I always disabled it in the original.

Pirates wiped out my entire fleet in first raid early in game. Have always hated pirates and wish to disable feature. Add nothing to game for me.

in first game pirates were too strong versus your early fleet and were countered by turrets. Their numbers are much lower now, even though the ships themselves arent pushovers exactly.
