Defense turrets targeting

The only questions I have are these.

1 Will the TEC, Vasari, and Advent defensive structures target enemies like sins of a solar empire , entrenched, diplomacy, and rebellion.

2 If not. Why was that decision made? (Personal opinion) Because the whole purpose of a autonomous defense structure is to defend the base while the fleet is away or to prevent a sneak attack from reaching your fleet at full power by diminishing them.

Please explain it to me I want to understand the thought behind making TEC turrets manual fire on all of the basic gauss towers Because I really do not want to leave my fleet in enemy controlled space while having a medium to large pirate fleet bearing down on my home system or the planet that I build 3 of each shipyard to supply manpower to newly invaded enemy star cluster.

What made you think they can't?

Turrets can shoot enemies (including pirates) automatically already. If you saw them not doing that, that's a bug.

When ever I make a turret in sins Entrench, Dip or Rebellion they all had the auto target or auto attack box in the lower left corner when you select on have it always active with the little swirly. However in SINS2 I do not see this little box anywhere after I build one I even uninstalled and reinstalled including file varication before the uninstall and reinstall. So have they released a hot patch that fixed what ever file location string or whatever string type command that tells what structure what ability it has and whether or not that said ability is active or disabled.?

You're missing a box? Did it come to mind that it may just not needed anymore? Turrets automatically fire on enemies vessels.

If they do not, that is indeed a bug and a savefile or a video would be appreciated for the devs.

They removed the box because they couldn't think of a practical reason to keep it. Everything always autoattacks enemies in range now. Why would you ever want to not fight back?
