Curtains not working correctly under Windows 10 22H2

Window borders are not modified

Hello,

I just bought a new PC 2 days ago, installed Windows 10 22H2, downloaded the latest version of Curtains, and suddenly it does not work (it was definitely working on Windows 10 1909 on my old PC). I mean, it does change the desktop wallpaper and taskbar color, also the title bar color is changed, but that's it, nothing else is modified (no shadows, opacity, title bar texture, window control buttons customization).

Is it a known bug or is my OS installation broken? Do I need to downgrade to make it work? Are there any software alternatives to reskin windows frames on this Windows version?

  1. Windows 10 Full version number.
  2. Curtain version installed.
  3. Screenshots of issue you mentioned.

Version number is 19045.3324 (Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19041.1000.0)

Curtains version is 1.19.1

Last time I tried to install Curtains I had some issues with Start Is Back (I need it too, and they worked together just fine on old PC with version 1809). Also after I tried WindowBlinds 11 at some point my system got completely broken (windows search and Start button stopped working, search in File Explorer stopped working too, Display Settings and Personalization options in context menu started to give errors without opening their applets), so I had to reinstall windows without saving my programs. So I'm a little scared to try it again...

Ah, it seems the problem was with the cracked version I was trying to install. Somehow it worked on version 1809 but not here (maybe because there was no Windows Defender in that OS build).

I downloaded the official 1-month trial version and everything is working fine now.

Please do not use "Cracked" version of anything.

Needless to say, we do NOT provide any assistance to cracked software, or people attempting to use it.

If [or when] it causes system failure you will clearly understand why.

On the other hand, Stardock will always be here to assist you with Legitimate Purchased software....;)

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please raise support ticket using the link below, use the "ask a question" option. Include all information details. Remember to record down the ticket number for future reference if needed. Do not raise multiple ticket, that will make your ticket back to the end of the line. Send once and wait.
