No way to compare them. Two completely different programs.

They do not skin the same things though. Themes are just how the graphics are packaged. Nextstart (Winstep), is a skinnable menu, with some other stuff as well (task bar, etc). It does NOT skin any part of Windows itself as Windowblinds does.

You can use Windowblinds with Winstep(Nextstart)...most people usually do. Get Both....you won't regret it.

No, they won't get confused...... Theme is not being used in the way you think. A WIndowBlinds theme won't do anything to a NextStart theme, or an DesktopX theme, or a CursorXP theme.

If you use NextStart without Windowblinds, what you will get is a skinned taskbar and launch menu, everything else...like actual windows, shellstyles, buttons etc. etc. will be the default XP blue look. NextStart is a stand-alone program that can replace the Microsofts start menu and taskbar.

I have never used Winstep so I cant really answer that question...maybe someone else who has used it can better answer that question for you. They do have trial versions of their products at the Winstep site...try it out and see if you like it.

it depends if you want a new taskbar and a launch menu. I for one have no reason for it. I just use desktopx or objectbar if I ever get the urge for something completely different.

Winstep has a 30-day trial period. The only way to answer your question is for you to try it and see if you like it.
