Ability to pin internet shortcuts to Start11 (Epic Games launcher shortcuts)

Hey,

I was wondering if there's a way of doing or if it's possible to add the feature of being able to pin internet shortcuts? the Epic Games launcher creates game shortcuts as internet shortcuts, as a way to also start the launcher if it's not running. If you just add the .exe directly, it won't open the launcher as far as I know.

Really want my game library shortcuts accessible in Start11

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I don't have Epic games launcher so I am not sure how the game shortcuts is done from it. Can you elaborate more. Is the game shortcuts send to your desktop area? If you right click on it do you see "Pin to Start11" on the context menu? Something like screenshot below:

Thanks

Hey,

Basically, they seem to be .urls which cannot be pinned to Start11, seemingly. So when you right-click, nothing shows up;

Which is a shame, means I can't pin the native shortcuts from any Epic games. Unless you pin the .exe directly from the game's folder but that won't open the launcher and you're not supposed to launch the games like that.

Using the registry tweak to convert to the old context menu. However, if it's a pinnable object, it would still show up;

Hello again,

Do you have Stardock Fences? If you do, you can than pin Fences to the StartPanel. Which will look something like screenshot below. What you can do just group all your URL game link into a Fence and than pin that Fences to Startpanel.

Thank you,

Come one Stardock. This is poor!

You've added steam as an option but if you hadn't this would also have been a problem as Steam uses urls for their desktop shortcuts. Many game launchers advertise their games via urls which are custom mapped to their launcher.

I have a solution for anyone who wants to take the effort. This does work but needs a little work.

Create a shortcut on the desktop to explorer in the following way...

c:\windows\explorer "com.epicgames.launcher://..." (truncated for expedience). Just put the full url inside the quotes. That's enough for you to pin it. You'll need to go looking for the executable to ensure you have a good icon by finding the fortnite-win64-shipping file in your system.
