Objectdock coolness

Hey wouldn't it be cool if objectdock or the real OS X dock had a keyborad shortcut where it the dock was hidden but when u pressed say control + D and the dock pops up. Anyone know of a program that will do that?

I was thinking something like minimizing to a just-visible, say, 100x10p bar, that acts as a hotspot, bringing up the dock on mousover, and returning to the little bar on mouseout. Shuttering it, as it were. Kind of like the windows taskbar can be shuttered.

that would be nice. it would also be nice that if you turned that feature on the automatic popup when you moved our mouse toward the edge of the screen near it turned off because lately that has been getting on my nerves for me...just a suggestion

You can do that in Mac OSX by hitting cmd+alt+d
