Known issues

While we appreciate all feedback, please remember that we offer no official support for beta \ preview \ developer channel versions of Windows. If you report issues while in any of those early release channels, you should not expect them to be addressed unless it still exists in a retail version of Windows.

Might I at least ask is it good with 3 monitors and Moment?

EDIT   Wrong app thread, sorry.

Perfect. Fix the topglass/taskbar progressbar issues as of now. However I noticed the taskbar clock on secondary displays does not paint properly on small icons still and at time the main taskbar start button area has glitches that goes away if I change the taskbar size.

Also using beta start11.

Attached screenshots show specs and start button misalignment.

Windowblinds worked fine until I did the Moments 2 update.

After that update the taskbar transparency and start button never worked proper.

To correct the problem I installed Start 11 which fixed everything, start button was aligned properly. I was happy and hoping for an update to fix Windowblinds in the meantime. I chose the Start 11 trial as I wish not to buy.

Today I noticed a new beta Windowblinds update which I installed . I uninstalled Start 11 and Windowblinds beforehand.

Now back to misaligned start button and transparency missing since this beta update. (Corporate style applied)

It does not look like you have the new WB build installed.

Thanks for the Show Desktop button.  :)

Start button still seems to be cut on even with enhanced taskbar enabled in start11.

Also, the caption buttons in file explorer dont display the glow images properly. They flicker for a second but then vanish. Works fine in other windows.

One last thing I noticed is that when using win10/11/modern options in start 11, it does not use textures when you have them set in windowblinds.

The "explorer tab bottom half background" option should be applied to tabbed Explorer windows only.

Instead as you can see from the image below the option is applied to Control panel non tabbed window:

in wb 11.01 this not happens.

(build OS 22621.1413)

why doesnt the option - apply accent color to backrounds (recommended) why doesnt it stay checked? this has been a problem since way back with windowblinds if i remember correctly.. you check the option and reapply the theme.. soon as you close the windowblinds window and re-open it.. the option is unchecked again..

Taskbar is still not getting themed even on this version:

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, do you have Start11 installed? Taskbar and Startmenu area need Start11 to be skin. If you do what version of Start11 you have installed.

Thanks

The only way I (myself) see to be clear of the misaligned start button and lack of taskbar transparency in Windowblinds since Microsoft's previous Moment2 update was to purchase and install Start11. Now with both the current Windowblinds and current Start11 everything is working as should be. (for me) There is a trial version of Start11. Try installing it. It may fix the broken Windowblinds.

**EDIT**

Going through and renaming the files.. This is gonna take a while.... lol

********

Any chance we could get a file name size increase? I have my images named based on the substyle/color and that adding to the theme name causes some elements to not load unless the name gets short...

Or possibly add in a tool in skin studio to mass rename the images/when saving a theme, rename them possibly.

I put a bug report in for it (internal ref: ODNT-5427). I thing that I noticed while testing it out, it seems like it is a visual bug, meaning if you applied the setting, it is actually still on until you apply it off again

This has indeed been a thing for a long time. IMHO (i.e. I have no technical knowledge!) it's a holdover from the past needed to keep things working. In practice it's actually pretty useless, again IMHO. It's not even necessary to hit the Apply button to see the changes the option makes. If you have Start11 installed you can see these changes being made to the icons in the main app list while in XP mode (which I stick to because I generally prefer older WB skins and thus can't comment on other modes). Having the option turned on makes the icons look worse because they no longer have their alpha-layer (their backgrounds are not transparent) but the WB skin's background is used instead. Presumably this was sometimes necessary in older versions of Windows but I've never seen it be useful now which might be why the option keeps turning itself off. Which I'm perfectly happy with!

Higher DPI above 100% causes some wonkyness with all theme elements. When using higher DPI, any images that have sizing margins should stretch like how they do with the default windows ones. various controls, frames etc... all look super blurry. I should not need to provide Higher DPI images for them. Can you guys look into this issue.

Thank! :D

WindowBlinds is working as designed.

If it worked as suggested you would end up with 1 pixel lines basically turning into nothing on high dpi displays.

Images are first upscaled to the current dpi along with the margins and then painted using those.

You should be providing high dpi versions of images if you want control over them, otherwise WB's job is to make the skin look like it would if the screen were running at a lower resolution at normal dpi.  To not do this would render most themes unusable especially any glyphs which would be tiny, titlebars would be physically tiny (1/4 size at 200%) etc.
