Photoshop Question - Consecutive Saves

Hello all, I was just curious if anyone could help me on this..
In photoshop, is there a tool, or perhaps somone could point me in the direction of a script that. Takes layers, and saves them as files in a certain folder in an order. EG: 1.psd 2.psd 3.psd 4.psd

Sorry, I know that's really confusing but, anyone that could decipher it, and help, is much appreciated. Thanks also for at least taking the time to read this.

Do you mean to use in animations, where each layer is a frame of the animation? If you do, then you can use "Image Ready" which is already in Photoshop, and will transfer all your layers over at the click of a button. Not sure if this is what you meant, if you tell us what you want to achieve, we may be able to help further.

Hehe, that's not what I wanted, thanks though.

Um, basically, I play a mmorpg called runescape, I "work" for a fansite, and one of the things I help with is making maps. The game has a little minimap, so you basically have to take bunches of screenshots of this little map, then stick them all together.

However, the newest version of photoshop has built-in image stitching. This makes the combining of all the little images much easier. However you can only merge saved files.

So basically, what I want to do, is take a psd with like, 10 layers, each of them with a different little minimap bit on it. Then save them all in 1 folder as their own file. So then I can go in and stitch them all together.

Actually, I see that option under File/Scripts in Photoshop CS. I think that's what you have, right?  I don't think it's available in PS7; at least I can't see it anywhere.

yep paxx, I was going by what was read in an atricle on CS, guess I should have read it again.

it is File/Scripts/Export Layers as Files...

Nope not in 7 and down, though I think there is either a filter or an action that will do it. Might be at the Adobe site... hmmm, now I will have to go look or it will bother me to no end

ok, thanks guys, I suppose I should stop being lazy and look through the options myself next time eh?
