This is the thread I wanted to see!  I have a couple of ideas to post here.   First up, the Scrin from Command and Conquer had an alien look to them that I really liked:

I mentioned this in the discord, but I'd really like to see a faction the uses concave structuring, something we haven't seen a lot of in GC parts. I'm a big fan of the Armored Core series, and they take advantage of this style a lot.  These aren't ships, but most mechs derive from turning a jet fighter into a humanoid so I figure they're similar enough.

To kind of show what I'm thinking, I added a couple images below.

Parts similar to the shoulders, torso, and legs of this mech could make for some really cool ship designs.

The lower leg on this mech uses concave structuring as well

Okay, these aren't ships either, but I love the aesthetic of these Destiny 2 weapons, an if you remove the handles to these guns you're basically halfway there.  You could make a race bent on the annihilation of all other species in the galaxy.  Ship designs with this aesthetic would look menacing as they kind of look like bleached shark teeth to me.

Last set (for now).  HexIron has some incredible ship designs.  I've posted 2 of my favorite, but if you like these, you should go see them all.  There's at least some inspiration for new parts.  I especially like how the designs mix aspects of modern tanks with sloping armor an obtuse angles. 

If you can, I'd like to see the Star Control parts reintroduced at some point.  There were some pretty unique and useful parts in those sets.

I like the idea of looking to architecture for space ships. I'm a big 40k fan, so more gothic shapes and arches would would be awesome. I saw this video though which I thought was an interesting take.

Or a ship that is built around artifacts from their homeworld, like some of these fellas. Adds a little more depth to race lore possible. I think they want to fight me.

I tried searches for spaceships with nautical figureheads, because that sounds it could be cool. The results were pretty damn funny. Literally nautical figureheads of people that ARE spaceships hahahaha

From the Gal Civ Announcement trailer.  The silhouette of this ship looks incredible.  I'm eventually going to try and flesh it out. 

Anyone remember Shadow Raiders (War Planets) 1990s show/toy line?  There were some really memorable designs. I definitely want to build them into GCIV
