I have the same exact problem, that began the moment I did the latest update. 4.51

I have Windows 11. I have tried every single step in this thread, and none of it worked.

Could you detail exactly what happens when you try to run the game?

If you would, could you detail all that you have done, please?

Quoting kj3292,

As I asked "Any further ideas what was broken with the update back in December?"

Any number of things could have changed but very few have resulted in Win7 PCs not being able to run the game - that is why we have to look at what is unique to yours.  The OP seemingly had the same issue (likely the same OS) and was able to resolve it.

Quoting chengseow1938,

Conclusion

DirectX seems to be the problem for my game not running.

What makes this even more challenging is how old the OS is and that Microsoft itself no longer supports it

We do not have Windows 7 PCs readily available in the office but I will see what I can do to resource something in an effort to see if I can even reproduce it.

That said, do you have any plans to migrate to a current version of Windows?

Hello Sean,

Again thank you for your reply, apologies for my late reply, real life has been a little "busy".

Regards updating to windows 10 or even 11, will not be happening if I can help it.

I started with MS DOS many, many moons ago and have progressed over the years to eventually arrive at Windows 7 Pro. I luckily dodged a bullet with Windows MS ...eyewatering fail on Microsoft's part. Also managed to dodge Windows 2000.

As I may have mentioned if Miscrosoft want ALL my data and user habits via an operating system then they can send me a cheque not vice versa. If forced I will likely migrate to Linux as MS have had enough from me over the years.

Keep well and hopefully hear from you soon.

Have had similar nonload issues in the past with updates following the instructions on the support thread sorts the issue...sometimes this resolves the following day. This thread alas has not resolved the issue.

And now vidhayakji79 is doing the same thing.  I wonder if this is another future spammer or netaji73q is trying again.
