Go to Settings, Bluetooth & devices then click the Open phone link button the notice titlebar skin won't load and Setup.exe for Paint shop pro 2022 wasn't working so I had to add it to the per app list.

None of the popup menus are skinned in any blind.

I know, no insider versions, but skins for windows 11 skin explorer tabs even worse than old skins.

Note, that the bar over the ribbon prevents clicking on buttons and tasks underneath it.

anyone can help me with a fix for this? i read some other forums about this issue but they were older forums with people having this issue on windowblinds 8 and an older vcersion on eset antivirus.. so the solution isnt available on newer version of eset products.. atleast i dont think.. anyone can help?

i followed the so called instructions and added an exclusion for wbcore.exe.. but that did absolutely nothing to help with the issue...

As per SD Support guidelines, please create a post summing up reply #29 and #30 in the proper forum SD software/Windowblinds and include your screenshot.

Personally I would advise you use a better AV product.  ESET isn't a product I would recommend myself for this exact reason.

Without knowing which skin that is and build of Windows it is hard to judge whats wrong exactly, but how a skin looks is up to the skin author so it may be that skin didn't do a good job in supporting the tabbed section.

Note that it is purely visual.  It will not impact clicking on buttons in the slightest.

i got it working now, just had to get the settings and allowing the correct .exe files in the stardock folders and adding exceptions and seems to keep everything skinned now without any issues.. other than the show desktop button being transparent still but that is a windowblinds issue that needs to be addressed.

About the Start Button disppearing completely experienced by some users, I can reproduce that. After applying an icon package, the Start Button is gone and the only way to get it back is sign out/reboot.

I'm on Windows Home 22H2 19045.2486, Start 11 1.36, IconPackager 10.03

yep. but it also happens at random times for no reason.. even if you dont apply an iconpackage. but applying an iconpackage is a sure way to make the start button disappear lol

The Start Button thing can happen when applying WindowBlinds skins too. A change of skin can cause Explorer to freak out (100% CPU core) and will crash if the taskbar is clicked on or the Start (super) key on the keyboard is pressed. The computer is still usable as Explorer launches again but I'll notice that not only has the Star Button gone but that also some notification area icons have disappeared and occasionally the calendar and Action Centre can't be opened at all until a reboot. It's not a new problem either. I've experienced crashes with Explorer for a long time although I'd say the Start Button thing is a more recent and noticeable side-effect which may be drawing attention to this issue more than before.

explorer crashes and explorer restarts yes ive experienced that for a long time also.. and yes it has 100% to do with windowblinds and iconpackager as the explorer only crashes when u apply an iconpackage or windowblinds skins at random times, never really said anything about it since explorer would just restart itself and everything would be fine for the time being lol... but then the start button started to disappear after updating the apps to the newest versions, and that was just WAY 2 big of a bug not to say anything.. ohh and also lets not forget about the other HUGE bug where the show desktop button on the taskbar is completely transparent when u hover over it rather than being skinned with the current skin u happen to be using..

Hi All,

For Windows 10 21H2 (19044.2486) I'm experiencing some issue with my personal theme for windowblinds 11.01 (and windowblinds 11.0) not observed on windowblinds 10.89.

More specifically, buttons & tabs seem to have some 'border issue' while the explorer "glassy areas">"top glass area" does not seem to work.

Please advise whether this a known issue or if any workarounds exist.

I would check your margins on the images.  They may have been set too small in the skin.

Thanks, looking further into this, I was able to fix both tabs & button. In fact margins were set too large. It seems when right and left margins "touch" (relative to source image) on windowblinds11, the 'middle section' used for 'tile horiz middle section' behaves differently than it did on windowblinds10.

Still not able to fix the 'top glass area' tough, seems like windowblinds11 doesn't like something specific about the image, even when converted to bmp.

**This was originally posted on the r/Stardock subreddit, just reposting here to see if I can get a response.**

I've been going through the process of trying to make my Windows 11 laptop look like Windows XP for aesthetic purposes. As such, I installed RetroBarOpen Shell, WindowBlinds 11, and SoundPackager. So far, everything I've installed has been working as intended, except for WindowBlinds 11.

r/Stardock - WindowBlinds 11.01 extremely buggy for me

As of writing this post, my windows look like this.

From the get-go, I've noticed that every other program I have works perfectly fine with WindowBlinds 11 except for most system programs. For example, the window font doesn't render correctly in Microsoft Paint.

Additionally, the Windows Explorer did not work at all before taking this screenshot—and apparently, I'm not the only one with this issue. The only reason why it's showing my File Explorer in the screenshot is because I installed ExplorerPatcher (recommended on the Stardock forums) and that somehow made it work, just without the window style. Another issue I found alongside this is even after I installed EP, the Control Panel doesn't show anything at all, and I can't even close the window.

Control Panel (with WindowBlinds 11 "Luna" theme applied)

The only fix I have is to return to the default style and restart my Windows Explorer. I'm not sure if I had set something up incorrectly in the midst of installing all of these individual programs, or if there's something I'm missing. I'm just unsure of what to do from here to get it to work as intended, so any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Windowblinds is designed to work with Windows, not with various shell enhancements added to Windows as well.

The program is marketed to the 'general Windows user' who has the default Windows 11 and wishes to improve it.

Needless to say, all of Stardock's programs designed for the same OS will behave well with each other, but the same cannot be said for all the alternative shells etc out there in the wild, particularly when simply keeping/managing all the OS updates/changes themselves...;)

I realize this now, also I found that the culprit was a setting inside of Open-Shell, in which it would revert some settings back to some of the classic settings of WXP. I reinstalled Open-Shell and disabled the feature which solved the issue. Thanks for letting me know!

Hi all,

Coming back to this issue, please note on windowblinds 11.01 (and windowblinds 11.0) on Windows 10 21H2 (19044.2486) "glassy areas">"top glass area" (Vista.ExplorerTop) is broken.

Please see screenshot of "Win8 Metro" as intended in Skinstudio and when used (note invisible back/forward buttons since image and background are same color).

Installed the latest. cumulative update today and the taskbar won't skin although the start button does.
