While we have had someone internally able to reproduce it with WhatsApp, other apps do show them, MS Teams for example:

Do you too have some apps that do show them but not others (or just WhatsApp)?

At this point I have no other apps that show notifications.

I just checked. My MS Teams did show badge notification but not Whatsapp. I assume this is something Whatsapp have to fix and nothing to do with Start11?

It's a few years later and I have the same bug - notifications for WhatsApp are not showing up. This seriously needs to be fixed. Basically it makes the entire Start11 product unusable for me. I depend on that unread messages notifications badge!
So are there any news, are there any plans to address this?

Added: You should able to see the notification if you disable Start11 enhance taskbar.

Thank you,

Thanks basj. The functionality of Start11 enhance taskbar is the main reason why I have bought and why I am using Start11. So disabling that defeats the purpose for me. I really need a fix to show the notifications while using the enhance taskbar feature set.

With our testing here, the Windows Store version of WhatsApp does show an indicator.  Are you using the Windows Store version?

Hey, yes using the one from the Windows/Microsoft Store (I don't think there is another option?). I am on Version 2.2527.2.0
So I guess it's a random issue for me then that cannot be reproduced? Are there any log files that I could send you that could prove useful?

We have had some success in reproducing it, just not reliably.  We are still looking at it...

Thanks for the feedback and if you find any patterns, we would welcome them.

Unfortunately v2.55 doesn't fix it for me :/ It's the same behavior as before, and it is super weird: As long as the Whatsapp program is not running, it does show the unread messages count. But once I start it, the notifications badge immediately disappears. Once I close the program, it reappears again. - So it's working the exact opposite way of how it should work and I do not know why.

We will continue to look at it but it's an odd one-off we have tried to accommodate for...

I recommend uninstalling, rebooting and then reinstalling 2.55 to rule out file replacement issues.

I was about to follow your recommendation re. reinstall... and then suddenly two days ago it just starting working properly! I have no idea why!
The only change to my system that I can think of is the latest install of Nvidia graphics driver.
Regardless, it seems to work now. And I just wanna say I appreciate you guys gave this a try to figure it out! And maybe you fixed it.
