Is it possible to add Document icons to Start11 menu?

Is there any way to add individual document icons, like a Word document, to the Start11 Start menu? What I actually want to pin is a PPK key file, because there's no other quick way to access it. It won't appear in the jump list for the executable I need to open it, but if I double click the icon in Explorer it does launch the correct app. I assume if we can pin one kind of non-executable file, then any document type would be possible.

If this is not currently possible, then this might be a useful additional feature to a few of us (I admit it's probably a fairly niche need).

Thanks,
Colin

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I don't think you can pin a file to Start11. But, you can pin a folder to it. Put those file into a folder or put its shortcut into a folder and pin that folder to Start. If you're using Start11 Win10 or Win11 style. If you're using Win 7 or modern style use the quick excess side shortcut and add that folder.

Thanks

If you use windows 10 or 11 style, you can pin a file by right clicking in a place where you can pin stuff in the menu and select pin a file. Change the type from common to all and find the file you want to pin.

You can also copy and paste a shortcut to the file in the same location, then right click that shortcut and select pin to start11 if you are using win7/modern style.

Thank you! I feel like a fool for not finding that on my own, but that EXACTLY solved the problem. I have now pinned a shortcut to my key file, which launches the proper program automatically and sets everything up. This saves many seconds every time I need to launch it.

Huge thanks!!
