First play feedback

Let me preface by saying that I was a tester and longtime player of Sins 1(long before trinity was thought up). Also that I am using a PC that is slightly dated but not yet obsolete.

The game loads just fine, no apparent errors. I had one crash while playing after clicking on the 3rd ability of the colonizer cap ship. Beyond that gameplay went smoothly. I am not a fan of the new status screens compared to the rebelion screens especially the tech tree. It felt extremely clunky to truly utilize. I did enjoy a few of the menus however, the owned planets screen for one. It actually made it faster and easier to manage all my planets. The market screen truly confused me the most. I went to trade material and there was no market. I later found out why and I feel like it makes more sense. The final point of the test for me to bring up is the moving planets, I like the fact that the feature is toggleable and that it adds dynamic depth to the gameplay. the save I made was in the middle of building a huge fleet, so tomorrow will be the stress test from me and i wipe the map from one side to the other. The costs of extractors and other buildings, even the ships took some time to get used to as it is all much higher then sins 1 prices. I will be updating this thread as I move on with the testing. If anyone has anything specific I should be testing please let me know.

Hi,

i love sins of a solar empire 1 and played it around 300 hours. My computer isn´t the newest but i didn´t have any problems during my first play of Sins 2. In my opinion the way you arranged things now in the tech trees etc is a very good one. I like, that you don´t have to get extra points to get capital ships so they only use normal fleet points. The idea with small factions that you need to discover to trade are also a nice upgrade. Mabey you should adjust the research for allowing to build mining stations a bit- for example you got 4 asteroids and you only need one research to build one mining station, 2 for 2 etc.. I also would prefer to get access to the repair function of the repair bay with less research structures- its pretty frustrating to stand around a long time with a capital ship that has taken a lot of damage. One personal request: I loved the design of the Sins 1 Kol class capital ship. In my opinion its one of the most iconic an best designs ever made of a space ship. Your design update got cool things but please please please adjust a 3 things. 1. Reduce the size of the top and bottom main battery size about ca. 30%-they simply look too big. 2. Increase the size of the hangar bay around 20-30%-the assymetrical look of the Kol rocks :). 3. Adapt the 4 front pylons/emitters/antennas (what ever the correct name of them is) to the more classic straight, square and bulky look. Please consider the Kol adjustments.

Best regards

Peter
