If you are on an insider release you do not get official support from us so if you encounter problems then whilst we will make note to investigate further we make no promises as to when it will be resolved.

This is the risk you take when you use insider releases and is why I would recommend against using insider releases of Windows.  If this is a problem then I would recommend using the release version of Windows 11 where you will not have this problem.

I am sorry to say we would have to charge a considerable amount more for the product to offer support for OSes that even Microsoft don't fully support!  Especially as there is no way to know when something may move insider tiers which means we would have to effectively support beta channel.

Every sane software company will tell you if you encounter a problem on an insider release of Windows that you should revert back to a release version for the time being.

You are expected to encounter issues using insider builds. Insider builds is an option for developers and business people who like to test new software. Introduced prior to the release, the Insider Program delivers members a beta version in several stages before the final release date, and the feedback is used to fix or improve the upcoming release.

And no, doesn't matter how close you are to the final relase. There's always last minute changes under the hood.

As another "user/member", I am sad to read the negativity you have received.
I believe in treating others with respect, especially when someone, like yourself, requests support. 

Despite what OS You have or don't have, a more supportive response should have been exorcised, in MY honest opinion. 

I have had similar issues/exchanges in the past......

You cannot easily revert to a release version of Windows 11. I opted out of the program at the start of the year, but getting out of the system is not so easy. Also at no point was there any notification prior to my purchase that this would be an issue. It was literally not stated anywhere, I looked.

Additionally the functionality (transparent Taskbar) LITERALLY WORKS PERFECTLY IN EVERY OTHER APP PROVIDNG THIS FUNCTIONALITY regardless of my Windows 11 version number, and lets be clear here, I am not using a beta, or unsupported version. I am literally only getting the next production version of Windows 11 early. The RCs thus far have had no issues, and are no different from the production versions when they release.  Start 11 breaks the other apps with Transparency, because you've disabled it. I also cannot use these other apps with Start 11 enabled, because Start 11 breaks them too.

Why can you not enable the feature? Because from all I can see the only reason it's not working is because you've disabled it.

What build number is your Windows?

If you get those messages and you are using a current build of Start11 (1.31 or 1.32) then Start11 has detected your system has the new Taskbar that Microsoft are still working on.  This does not work with transparency adjustment which is why the setting is disabled.  I would certainly check you are using the latest Start11 however as I think you are the only user reporting this on Insider Preview (vs beta\dev)

Regrettably the use of Windows insider builds means you may experience issues due to Microsoft changes.  If you are on release preview then I believe thats not due for release for months so it shouldn't be unexpected that we will expect to use that time ourselves for development.  This is one of the risks of using unreleased software.

One curious thing is if you opted out early in the year then I would have expected you to have ended up back on the release build back in October.  Are you 100% sure you were initially on Release Preview rather than beta?

I was hoping that Start11 would provide a solution for Tiles in Windows 11. Your discourtesy to a customer is disqualifying.

If the customer wants to use the released versions of operating systems we will gladly assist him with any issues, but it isn't possible to offer support on what is an unsupported operating system when the issue is coming from the very use of said operating system.

Unfortunately too much of our time has been wasted in the past by users not reporting they are using insider releases and asking for support, so we tend to make it very clear in our posts that we cannot provide official support and why that is.  I am sorry if this comes across as harsh.  We do often try our best to mitigate issues in beta/dev channel releases but thats different to official support and sometimes there is something thats too big for a quick fix.

In this case there is a new taskbar Microsoft are working on and it isn't finished (it still gets changes in dev channel even) and this is what stops the transparency working.  Our plan is to have this supported before Microsoft release this but it is not due to be released until probably February time at the earliest assuming they don't abandon it again.

To reduce support issues the software was made to detect the use of the new taskbar and disable the options which are not compatible and indicate why in the interface.

The other possible cause of this would be the use of a much older version of Start11 as Microsoft were going to release the new taskbar for 22H2 but pulled it when they got negative feedback.  Because of this there are older versions of Start11 which will detect purely on build number and so incorrectly detect it on 22H2 and higher.  This was changed a very long time ago though to be based on detection of the bar itself once Microsoft reintroduced it in the dev channel.
