Personally, I would want it, and it would be a great addition in terms of the content.
What would be better is a campaign editor. This would allow modders to make free campaigns for people to download, resulting in a potentially unlimited amount of campaigns. The modders do the work for free while adding value to the title and the players get to benefit from it.
There won't be, at least initially. As DLC, who knows? It depends on if enough folks want it and if we think we could do a good job with it.
There's the possibility to work with modders to let them bring the campaign to life under supervision of someone who decides the lore. A full on DLC would be better of course, but just to throw the option out there.
Interesting. I will hold you to that in 3 years time if you are sitting on a pile of gold.
The link is to a YouTube video called Sins of a Solar Empire, The Campaign we never got. It's mainly just some guy reading through the rebellion manual while interspersing some cut videos, but it shows how much the lore appealed to some of us and how I'm not the only person who really would like a campaign at some stage. Just read through the comments.
