Ship Designer bugs/missing features
Version 1.05 -
The 'Ship Designer' for GalCiv4 has some limitations right now. 'Bug' may not be the correct word, but they are inconsistencies and/or missing features. Rather than make a bunch of posts I thought I'd group all of the 'Ship Designer' things together.
- Currently, there is no way to access custom race colors as you design new ships through the 'Ship Designer' launched at the main menu.
- The main menu 'Ship Designer' lacks the ability for you to build ships with extra inventory slots as though you have researched 'Flexible Bulkheads' or 'Extreme Miniaturization'
- Once in a game, if you accidentally mark a ship as 'Obsolete' there is no way to recover them. They still exist in the 'Ship Designer' from the main menu or in your next game, but it would be nice if there was an area where obsoleted ships lived so you could pull them back out again
- The 'Assault Carrier Module' 's description text says "Carries 9 Fast and deadly Assault Fighters" but it actually only carries 5.
- The 'Carrier Module' 's description text says "Carries 6 Fast and deadly Fighters" but it actually only carries 4.
- There is a prebuild ship called 'Carrier M12' which has 2 'Assault Carrier Module', however if you try to build a custom ship from scratch and add, the 'Assault Carrier Module' it is limited to 1 per ship. You can get around this by just modifying the 'Carrier M12' ship design which already has 2 'Assault Carrier Module' and then add all your extra inventory. Either it should truly be one per ship and the prebuilt ships need to be fixed, or it should be changed to a 2 per ship module. See picture below
- There are these "Component" modules listed as 'Interstellar Drive' that don't seem to do anything that I can detect. See picture below
That's all for now.
