Features

  • Survival Multiplayer Mode- In Survival mode all the human players are locked in permanent war with all the AI players. And the AI players become stronger as the game goes on. The human players will be destroyed, the question is, who will last the longest?
  • Sandbox Multiplayer Mode- Play with all the normal rules of Galactic Civilization IV in a multiplayer game. Explore, make allies, backstab your friends, invade worlds and more.

Fixes

  • Fixed a stuck turn issue caused by AI ships getting blocked entering subspace streams.
  • You can no long obsolete your colony ship (it would break the Draft Colonists executive order).
  • Typo fixes.
  • Fixed a bug where infinite culture points can be granted from firing/hiring commanders as Arceans.
  • Fixed an exploit where you can rush culture points early with Arcean commanders.
  • Fixed an issue with the Engineering civilization trait not correctly applying the colony decay mod.

Balance

  • Beam Amplifier no longer affects the entire fleet (just the ship it's on).
  • Missile Amplifier no longer affects the entire fleet (just the ship it's on).
  • Kinetic Amplifier no longer affects the entire fleet (just the ship it's on).
  • Large ship hull logistics reduced from 8 to 6.
  • Huge ship hull logistics reduced from 16 to 12.
  • Military starbases now get advanced defenses upgrades (+3 to all attack).
  • Loyal ability now gives +1 Culture point when a commander is assigned (instead of it granted specifically by the Arcean ships).
  • Minister of Colonization now improves Approval on all your worlds except your Homeworld.
  • Colonial Supplies executive order now reduces decay on all your colonies by 50% for 25 turns. Its Control cost is increased to 30 and it now has a 50 turn cooldown.
  • Increased Onyx Hive Promethion-based growth from 0.002 to 0.006.

UI

  • The Planet HUD now disappears on mouseover to make it easier to view and select objects that may be covered by it.
  • Added tooltip support explaining how the Onyx Hive's growth works.

Why the reduction in logistics?

 

I am all for it, as I was manually reducing it, but curious what you found and why.

Smjjames is right. Fleets of large/huge ships weren't able to compete with equal logistics fleets of small ships. This helps balance that.

It seems now the culture point gain from assign leader to commander ship is fixed at maximum 7 point. It can still get the 7 points at the beginning by using same leader and assign leader in/out on same commander ship, giving the civilization having the loyal ability a huge advantage at the beginning.

  • Loyal ability now gives +1 Culture point when a commander is assigned (instead of it granted specifically by the Arcean ships).

You are right. I'm going to update the script to be more complex and catch this sort of exploit.

Basically what its going to do is track whenever you fired/execute a commander, so you wont get another culture point until you "repay" for fired commander. It does mean that you can unassign from ship 1 and assign to ship 2 and you wont get another culture point (which is good since you could exploit by jumping one guy through all 3 starter ships early). But it may be a little confusing for some player when they assign a commander and don't get a culture point and forget that its because they unassigned someone earlier.

So, basically you’re trying to set it up so that it remembers which leader was commander, so, in order to get three culture points that way, you’d have to hire two more and assign? Plus only one point per ship.

seems reasonable and wouldn’t affect those who just hire once and leave the commander there the whole game.

It's a little simpler than that. It basically tracks a "debt" whenever you fire or execute a commander. And it won't provide the culture point if there is a debt (instead it removes a point of debt). 

But in effect it's as you describe.

Hi Derek, was there to be some extra ship design parts to be added to Ver.1.05 also the registration parts show in the designer but cannot  be used is this an oversight the classic ship designs are also missing.

Not sure if I should post bug reports in this thread:

Not all ships are showing up in the ship roster:

1. open up save

2. Tab to the only available ship that has moves.

3. Try to find the asteroid miner (or any of the others) in the ship roster.
