Congratulations, Stardock! You've messed up my system!

Today I've decided to install the trial version of Curtains on my computador, to test it out.

Didn't worked... and then, I had it uninstalled.

Now my system is all messed up... some apps doesn't work anymore, and others are taking a long time to load after startup, plus... menu's displaying the wrong colors.

I had made a restore point before installing Curtains, because I predicted this kind of thing would happen... but despite having done, it simply doesn't work; displaying a 0X80070005 error (saying that I need to deactivate my anti-virus software in order do restore the system — the thing is, I already did that... later on, after trying again and again, I'd removed from my PC... both McAffe and Malwarebytes: no good; continue without being able to restore it). This is the first time in my entire life that I see this kind of thing happening, and all thanks to Stardock.

I have 4 hours trying to fix this catastrophe! Already tried a bunch of things.

I love Stardock, use other of your apps/utilities... but this program shoudn't be available for download at all.

Now I want to know how I'll repair this without having the need to format my computer. Please, help me out!

Sorry to hear of your trouble. Curtains works great on my system. After installing, did you reboot?

Why not tell us what your system specs are, what computer do you own, from when? What OS, version, RAM, graphics card and driver?

In other words, someone else uninstalled Curtains for you? You made a restore point, but couldn't restore to it?

Sounds like more is wrong with your system than a borked Curtains install, azonerr.

Curtains couldn't have altered your computer so radically.

Regarding the uninstall part... no, I expressed myself wrong; english is not my main language... what I wanted to say was that I uninstalled it (sorry, my bad!).

"Curtains couldn't have altered your computer so radically.", in fact.. it happened. But looking back now, I came to the conclusion that maybe it wasn't Curtains... but Windows trying/failing to restore (taking away the visual part).

I didn't realize that I needed to restart after installing it.

Thus, I'll give it another try... installing it again, restarting and testing properly.

About the system specifications, I have an Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-52 (all the latest drivers are installed):

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

But both after uninstalling Reboot and after installing Reboot .

Best done on Stardock apps .

If you still have an issue after rebooting then try the Purge https://forums.stardock.com/500728/curtains-support-faq#CurtainsPurge

Reboot and re install the latest version showing on your product page https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products/

Reboot , test and report back .

Hey, just reinstalled it and did what was told; I did restart the PC this time.

But here's the deal (and that's what made me uninstall the first time):

Icons/text that should be white... are now black! (Start button/menu and try... with or without the third-party app called StartIsBack - and even with Curtains uninstaled); this is what is pissing me off the most.

Now I want to continue with Curtains and go straight down the rabbit hole (instead of reverting to the original Windows style) — just bought the license via Steam.

With No third party app running and no curtains .

I'm pretty sure Steam customers don't have access to betas, and if I'm not mistaken, he is not talking about Start 11, but Curtains. I think the version of Curtains on Steam is 1.18.

It looks like you have the OS set to light mode hence the black text whilst having a theme that has a dark taskbar.
