Off topic - Will the site ever be Updated ?

There have been talks about updating the Wincustomize site to meet the "new" website ui-standards for some time now...

why here but almost all find everything in order and wonderful, updates we do not need the existing software errors are not so bad, the rating make some for themselves everything super LOL  

It would cost too much Andy.     

I am using a darkmode addon in my browser to not get blind everytime I enter the site. Looks quite decent, too.

"The check’s in the mail”, “This will only take a minute”, “It’s me, not you”, and “I’ll pay you back on Tuesday".

I'm willing to bet it's another thing that's Microsoft's fault.

MS decided to release an uncooked OS [or 2] that has all the Dev guys fighting to keep up with the proggies we want to skin....rather than spend time on the site that displays them.

I vote a placard parade and lobby/protest to Microsoft....

"Look what you've gone and done....!!!!!!"

Every now and then there are developments...but mostly not 'cosmetic'.

this is wrong I work since release with windows 11 I have various hardware also virtual reality windows 11 works without problems I have hundreds of programs tools programming languages only a few had to get an update that was also available shortly after release. Microsoft does not design its ui so that it can be changed is also not their task. what I as windowblinds 10  or curtains user also regret but in the foreground is now working with the PC not the beautiful look

I honesty think stardock just needs to drop support for the DEV channel and just focus on what they send to the Beta instead.

Also, I think windows 11 customization is really going to be Kickstarted by Start 11 success. Start 11 is kind of the gateway for a new breed of people to come into stardock software fold. I think stardock was wise to go all in on it and hope Start 11 does really well so more money can go towards developing windowblinds 11 and even fixing an outdated site.

And how many actual Shell Enhancements do you have working without problems?

You obviously don't understand the mechanics of an OS.

And that is exactly the point. They are still changing it themselves so there's not a lot for third parties to work with still, not when the goalposts keep moving.

ALL previous OS releases [prior to 10] were sufficiently finished and straight forward to design for, and they too were not "design its ui so that it can be changed'.

Stardock can and has for every Windows release, and will again for 11 - once MS has finished screwing with it.

Windows 11 is uncharted territory. It is the very first OS to be an always in Beta operating system.

Otherwise you are correct. I believe there may be ways to overcome some of the issues and I am looking forward to seeing how Neil's will skin Windows 11. Obviously his team can not begin work on that project until they finish Start 11.

But we have had the update of being able to add images in the forums without needing a 3rd party hosting site.  Long time coming.

You'd think a skinning site could "skin the site."

StartAllBack is a registry hack not a shell enhancement. It tricks Windows 11 into downloading windows 10 taskbar and the only shell enhancement is the older windows 7 menu style designed for windows 10 taskbar not windows 11's.

Right now there are a lot of registry hacks and patches where you can force Windows 10 stuff onto Windows 11, but there is very little shell enhancements that actually hook on to windows 11 mechanics.

I think the issue ended up that with all the cross-linked forums connecting all the sites having one skinned/skinnable would adversely affect all the others.  Back in 2001 there wasn't the same integration between sites...;)

Since it's come up, have I mentioned lately (ever?) just how much I love that?  Worth its weight in gold, that one.  Absolutely love it.  (To be clear, not the slightest hint of sarcasm in there.  I think it's awesome.)
