Frequent freeze and crash

Game frequently freezes and crashes. I checked the debug.err to find this:

Reason: Device hung.

Debug Message:  CReloadGraphicTask: Failed 10 attempts to load graphic: C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\STEAM\STEAMAPPS\COMMON\GALACTIC CIVILIZATIONS III\GFX\ICONS\STATS\GC3_FantasticPlanet_Icon.png.  Error: (887a0005) The GPU device instance has been suspended. Use GetDeviceRemovedReason to determine the appropriate action.

 

Similar error for GC3_Dead_Planet_Icon.png on an earlier crash. 

System specs :

intel core i5 with 8GB ram and intel iris xe graphics.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

This problem is usually caused by OEM drivers.

Please updated the graphics card's drivers using the following link and make sure to select generic drivers if asked

I update the drivers by downloading fresh ones from intel. However the problem persists. Similar error different filename:

Debug Message:  CD3D11Renderer::CreateTextureFromFile FAILED to create shader resource view from file: C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\STEAM\STEAMAPPS\COMMON\GALACTIC CIVILIZATIONS III\GFX\ICONS\STATS\GC3_Adventure_Ability_Icon.png Error: (887a0005) The GPU device instance has been suspended. Use GetDeviceRemovedReason to determine the appropriate action.

Debug Message:  CTextLayout::SetInlineImage: FAILED to load texture: C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\STEAM\STEAMAPPS\COMMON\GALACTIC CIVILIZATIONS III\GFX\ICONS\STATS\GC3_Adventure_Ability_Icon.png

 

I am running the game in admin mode as well to avoid any access issues.

Currently running graphics driver version: Intel Iris Xe 27.20.100.9664

According to this page the latest version is 30.0.101.1191, please try that one.
