WinCust on a new server

WinCustomize has moved.  WinCustomize has just traveled accross the country from Georgia to California (has nothing to do with the new Governor of CA).

I expect there will be some glitches over the next couple of days so if you notice anything that is not working as expected please let me know.

And to just confuse the matter more, I have swtiched the time back to Easter Time instead of Pacific time (don't ask).  This will probably mess up the time stamps of the threads for a bit.

T-Man/KG

Its most probably too early for me to report a problem but i guessed you might like to know sooner rather than later so please excuse me if i am "jumping the gun" - A couple of minutes ago i tried several times to update my desktop image in my account and got a WC blank page with the following:-

Provider error '80004005'

Unspecified error

/tools/updatedesktop.asp, line 119

and then on the next time it showed:-

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Named Pipes]Specified SQL server not found.

/tools/updatedesktop.asp, line 1

Every few minutes, I cant go anywhere on the site. Its all 404 errors. Which is annoying. It might be just me though.

Kudos to all!

I've got one for you, Pat. The SkinPlant skin pack news post on the home page says it has 1 comment, but it really has 18.

good luck and thanks for all the efforts T-man. The site hangs a lot but I'm sure that will straighten out soon.

My experience earlier today was the same as yrag's in regards to SDC. Didn't try WC Browser. So I'm in IE for the moment. Considering some sites disappear off the net entirely for days when they switch servers, so far the transition has seemed relatively smooth as far as I can tell.

I won't ask...I promise... But I am a bit perplexed that WC moved on to a Cali server and is back on Eastern time rather than Pacific... Oh wait...never mind...WC has just entered the "Twilight Zone"...

Ah well, it's all military time to me anyhow give or take a few hours.

Here's a site issue I noticed, dunno if it's related but when you look through the screenshot section, the views haven't updated. Shots from 10/2 say "Views: 10 -- Views Today: 10" etc...

1st of.... Great job to all those involved with the evolving and bettering of the site.
So far I haven't got any errors and everything seems to be running smooth. But I have come across a little problem. When I try to put the 'honorific/title' in front of my nickname, it doesnt let me. >

So you all can just call me "Titleless Apocalypse_67"
Oh no, wait... I got my title back.
Rewind and erase what I typed before

Note: It doesnt let me change it tho'

Unless its just me, The MGSBD doesn't seem to update automaticly. I have to do it manually by resetting the list.

Pat was 10% grey before this....he's probably about 60% grey now...

Please just give it a day or two to be sorted out. There is a massive amount of database loose ends to tie up before it is all set.  We did have the Atlanta server replicating to Cali server, which somehow created the time issue.  Now that all servers are in Cali, the replication times aren't conflicting.  (That may not have made any sense, but today has been a long customer support day....and I'm probably only making sense to myself now....)

Anyway, the fine Website/database crew of Stardock are working as hard as they can to get everything back to normal, and I am sure that they will have 95% of everything fixed before the weekend.  Our goal is to have everything back 100% by the 18th.  (Boy, this stuff sure has gotten big and complicated over the years )

Yeah...I think T-Man is probably home, laying on his couch with a cold can of beer pressed to his forehead trying to fight off those server demons....and muttering something about not going back to office tomorrow........

hhmmm...come to think of it, I think he said he was "working from home" tomorrow....I think I better make sure there are no outgoing flights reserved in his name
