Please help me with buttons ...

Hi, I'm totally new to WindowBlinds / SkinStudio (bought it a few weeks ago) and am currently trying to make me a Classic Win98 Skin (I want my very own & also understand how everything works, instead of just downloading a pre-made one).  But I've run into some problems.

When using Media Player Classic HC (MPC-HC), in the Options Menu under Program - Logo, the two buttons marked in my image below should usually have left and right arrows on them, but in my skin they are empty.  Could anyone make suggestions what is wrong here / what I could try?  Standard buttons under 'Edit Controls' seem to be fine and are displayed correctly...

Also, the Media Player controls seem to look weird - these should show up as normal buttons with controls on them, but there is a strange 'fragment' on the bottom side of the buttons.  Any idea what's wrong here?  And especially WHERE I have to look for such particular buttons?  It's SO hard to identify all the controls correctly...

Any help appreciated.

BTW... as it seems, with menus that 'scroll' (too long vertically to fit on the screen, when you press the small downward arrow), everything in the menu seems to completely mess up (in all skins I tried).  Is there a solution?

Thanks to anyone who can help. ;)

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. From my experience, it is best, for new user to learn from a known working skin. Use it, and see what is what and know which goes where. Once you comfortable with that. Than you can change it little by little with your own graphics, until every single section is yours.

I can't help you by just looking at your screenshots, since I don't know what is your setting like for those buttons. If you wish, you should share your wba file and I will try to look into it and see where are your issues. But, who knows, someone else, might pop in and help you.

Thanks.

I did EXACTLY that, and guess I did learn a lot how things worked.  However, I was not able to find a solution for the above problems, otherwise I would not have posted here and bothered others with it (geez, I've read that advice so often in this forum already, but alas it's not the solution to everything).

Actually, I was hoping that someone could just download Media Player Classic HC (MPC-HC) and tell me what exactly the mentioned buttons are / what the equivalent is in SkinStudio.  As I wrote, it's SOOO hard to determine what is what (what SkinStudio shows as examples is VERY general in many cases).  And without that info, I really don't know what to do or for what exactly to look.  As I wrote, Controls - Buttons seems to be ok & working fine.  Buttons usually have text; I don't know what those 'arrow' buttons really are, or what Media Player uses for the 'media buttons'.

Can anyone tell me what those buttons in my images exactly are in SkinStudio?

After looking around the arrow look like its from Spin Controls buttons : Horizontal spin. The arrows is in the Glyph sections.

For the second part. Will need sometimes to remind me of things.

YES, that was EXACTLY what I was looking for!  Thank you SO much.  You are fabulous. :)

Actually, in the 'Normal Toolbars Buttons' I just had a margin set wrong, so it didn't exclude the top rim of the image.

The 'Spin Controls' did look fine to me at first.  I don't know how many of you out there already noticed this, but if the total length of the image location string (skin directory, backslash and full image name with extension) exceeds 59 chars, WindowBlinds and SkinStudio seem to be unable to handle it.  Because I tried to give my images more meaningful names than in the 'Diamond' default skin, this one had exactly 59 chars.  But with Glyph images, it seems to work only with one char less, so I just renamed the image, and then the arrows appeared.
