Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

For what ever reason it's a MS issue some of their sound options don't

let you make changes.

Sound Packager works fine it's just that

Windows doesn't allow some of it's sounds

to be changed, but others can be.

I do not have a list of those that can't be

changed . So best just play with the program

and see what can.

With Windows updates and version changes

there can be changes to what's allowed.

Yea... I did that too. Actually twice. The last time after the uninstall I deleted all files relating to.

I went searching and see others have the same issue I have with sound packager which I just installed this morning. Can't change Startup or exit sounds with it.

I was using this to change the startup sound and it works but was hoping Stardock's solution was best.  Was using this > https://startup-sound-changer.en.softonic.com/

I'm now looking at this as well and will continue trying. With this method I did get those options to appear under windows sound settings but I still don't hear anything. >  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAGaX_O2MmU&ab_channel=WindowsReport

I believe, since Windows 10, Windows has change, and setting startup and shutdown sound no longer available.

I can confirm this, when using Win7 i was able to apply a full set of custom sounds (my Own Not Soundpackager) to all Windows events including start up, shutdown etc.. but more recent Windows Editions do not allow the changing of some sounds, Pity as it was a great feature .

The alternative which works is to download that app I posted above. Works for me and it's what I did this time again. I grabbed one of the sounds from zen and used the app above to make the change. Shut down won't be possible because these newer versions of windows shut down really fast.

It has been a while since i have used sound schemes for my Windows, see above the reasons why. But good for you rey for sourcing an alternative.

If no resolution is met, I suggest that Stardock remove this program indefinitely.
