I need help with email alert objects...

I think email alert DX objects are great, but when I download them and put in the info in 'configuration', it doesn't tell me when I have email. I think I have the server thing wrong: for server, do I just type in the site, like 'aol.com'? please help!

i may be wrong, but if you have aol, I don't think you could check your email by using outlook, or outlook express right? If that is the case, I don't think you can check aol email using the email notifiers.

Notifiers work with ANY email servers that use pop3 and smnp servers. If aol don't use or reveal what server name is, you cannot use the alert.

The email notifiers is a little bit broken, after some time it will go 100% cpu and stop checking if box has email.

Mr. XX, that's what I meant, but you said it better...
Yeah, the email notifiers are junk with DX arent they. They are great WHEN they work.
Mine lately, haven't made the cpu jump to 100%, but they do stop working after awhile.

Sysmetrix also does the same thing...

alright, but what exactly is the server? I know it's a stupid question, cuz someon's told me before, I'm sure of it...

The DX Email checker iz useless for me .Only once have I gotten it to show delivered email,and I,like others, really don't have time for CPU spikes.It is very unreliable and unstable.

BTW,::sienn,Itz really not worth the trouble with all the other options that are very good at this simple task.The other options will run a fraction of the resources DX email checker will.

The only reliable email checker I have used is MSN messenger. Works like a charm. even teels you who it is from when it notifies you of new email.

I wouldn't say "only" I've had great luck with incredimail, and it's a whole lot prettier.
