Leo the Lion Leo the Lion

I know its been said before but........................

I know its been said before but........................

I would love to see a Rainlendar section on this site.

I find this little programme or piece of eye candy (however you view it) as a great addition to any desktop.

I know you can get them from other sites but lets face it vertually all the best skinners in the world are on this site and it is most probably the most visited site in the world for skinning.

I have seen some great Rainlendar skins over the time that i have been a member here and most have been made from artists that are members of this site.

Whats more - just take a look at a lot of peoples screenshots and desktops and you will see how popular it is.

I bet it would be far popular than some of the other libraries like Cool Player to name just one.

I would like to know what you other guys and gels think of this and perhaps if there is sufficient support than we can ask this to be considered at staff level by Wincustomize.

Leo.. I agree with Kewl Pad and I would add Beatnik and possibly CoolPlayer but...Color Pad still has a good following as documented by the number of people coming on this board asking for a download link. Great little program.

Well for me DX will give me that functionality and more if I want.

But there are times where I don't run DX (GASP!) or have a desktop with a different set up for the week or chore.

Yes it has been said before, but worth saying again IMHO

Rainy is popular, usable, small footprint, and this is the site where the best skinners are at for the most part. (At least until Deskmod is back up)

Rainy and SysMetrix are hot and pretty easy to skin too (like Cursor XP) of which also makes them popular with newbies.

In keeping things simple I would like to see a rain section. I use it and I am always looking for the right skin to match my desktop. Right now I am looking for a NoOS one.

As for me, I would love to see this section added too.

The additon of Rainlendar was allready suggested by some admins many times in the Admins Board, though the final decision isn't ours, all we can do is suggest and this I can assure, we really did.

thanks guys for your imput

joetheblow......you touch on something that i was going to bring into this thread later but i will mention it now......its a shame that Deskmod is not running because this would have given us an idea of how popular a Rainlendar section would be. This site seemed to me the most popular for most Rainy fans of which quite a few are members here.

Come on people..........lets hear from you

There'd be plenty of bandwidth for these other genuine skinning sections if you got rid of the 'non skinning' wallpaper section

I'm joining the badwagon as well, I am all for a rainlendar section. This would also help the skinning illiterate like me(who just found out where to get the program 2 days ago

A rainlendar section on the site would be a nice addition. I have just started using it myself and making skins for it. Yes someone could use DesktopX and do the same thing as rainlendar, but I run Sysmetrix, and if I use DesktopX my system lags out bad because of the amount of stuff I do at anyone time. I will use DesktopX when I want the “visual look” of it, but in the real world it just slows my system down to much to have it run full time, that’s were rainlendar comes in as a good mod for my desktop…

Rainlendar would be a nice addition to the skins area…

Not to open another can of worms so to speak but I think that an area for Trillian skins would be a great idea as well… Trillian site does not really only has a few good skins to pick from…

Ok that’s my 2 cents

I'm all in favor for a Rainlendar section. The screenshots I upload here people ask me to email them the Rainy I made to go with the theme, so recently I have joined DeviantArt to upload my skins there. But I have a problem with that, I am a great fan of Wincustomize and it dosen't seem right to put a link to another site for skins. I have about 150 skins in my Rainlendar collection and I would love to upload them here.

As for DX calendar: I don't use DX that often. I found that DX is just another way to provide shortcuts. I have ObjectDock,TabLaunch and Sysmetrix for system metering to do all my functions with no resource loss. Don't get me wrong DX is great it's the coolest app I've ever used, but I have no use for it.

Sorry I got off on a rant there. My main point is: This is the BEST skinning site with the BEST artist, why should you have to go to another site to download skins???

Monty.....you'd only ever be able to upload your OWN skins...not your 'collection' of them....

Jafo they are my own skins, except for about 10(at a guess). Every time I upload a WB skin it's impulsive of me to make a Rainy skin to match. I have 466 WB skins so I'm not that impulsive. They would all be uploaded with the artists permission of coarse.

Hum, as I see it Rainlender is a neat little program. WC is "the" site which offers many choices. Why not a Rainlender section too. More choices, more visitors, more interest in OD too I'm sure after they curiously browse. Sooo, why not?

Yea Rainlander is an awesome app and deserves recognition. I certainly would welcome a section for Rainlander skins on Wincustomize
