I know its been said before but........................

I would love to see a Rainlendar section on this site.

I find this little programme or piece of eye candy (however you view it) as a great addition to any desktop.

I know you can get them from other sites but lets face it vertually all the best skinners in the world are on this site and it is most probably the most visited site in the world for skinning.

I have seen some great Rainlendar skins over the time that i have been a member here and most have been made from artists that are members of this site.

Whats more - just take a look at a lot of peoples screenshots and desktops and you will see how popular it is.

I bet it would be far popular than some of the other libraries like Cool Player to name just one.

I would like to know what you other guys and gels think of this and perhaps if there is sufficient support than we can ask this to be considered at staff level by Wincustomize.

I'm not a guy or "gel" but I can offer my 2 cents.  If you look at my screenshots, there is a calender in it, but it is not Rainlendar.  It is a DesktopX object.  Since I am already running DesktopX, there is no reason to load another program that will do the same thing.

Sorry KG don't take offence at the "gel" bit, just a way of speaking we have over here.........Can i call you Boss......yes thats more like it.......anyway your point is taken however when it comes to desktop calendars i bet the usage of Rainlendar is far more popular than DesktopX............maybe i am wrong

I use rainlendar and rainmeter...love em and would like to see a section for skins for rainlendar.

It seems that the reason for not including Rainlendar in the library section is because it is not a Stardock product. I am sure they would rather promote their own program that they sell and which can do the same.

but what about us people who can not run the latest DX because we use sloooow machines and very old OS?

Little Jerry.......Hmmmm, i thought of that but Wincustomize is not as "shallow" as that........The admins and moderators of this site always look at everything fairly and also listen to popular opinion of its members and take all of this into consideration regardless of whether the product is made by Stardock or not.

besides, sysmetrix and litestep are not stardock proggies but we have libaries for them!

Kona......you make a valid point however the vast majority of people are running XP now with suitable CPU's and RAM. Even i upgraded my CPU to, wait for it, a 1.4ghz AMD athlon the other day with 512mb of DDR ram and my 'pooter is now a flying machine........but as you quite rightly point out not everyone has a machine fast enough to run DX2 comfortably.

I think it would be a nice addition to the libraries.
There are many people that already have Rainlender and would want to have skins available for the program rather than purchase another program that does the same.

well said.

Only a little bit longer than I will be in th 2 ghz cpu world hehehe...

Little Jerry......this has been subject to discussion before and i cannot remember the outcome. Don't forget there are many, many other programmes out there which people make skins for which are popular but not on Wincustomize. We cannot cater for all the Wincustomize "families" needs but we certainly should listen to popular demands and i think Rainlendar appears sufficiently popular to warrant raising this issue again

AP67......thank you for your support.

Kona............2ghz wow........i would be licking my lips if you put one of those in my hands

Not true.  look at the list again- not all programs that are available from here are ours (as in 11 of them, which doesn't include generic stuff like "wallpapers" and "screenshots"), and some functions can be duplicated by our products (such as WinAmp/Coolplayer (DX has an mp3 player) or Sysmetrix (DX can do that) or why use Lightstep?  DesktopX does a lot of it, but it doesn't really replace the shell!  Or, how about Nextstart?  Why not use ObjectBar?  How come there is both "Dashboard" and "PocketBlinds" on here?

It would be nice if people would think before posting......

The point of this thread was if there was enough interest in it to include a section.  My vote, personally, was that I don't use it.  It's that simple.  I used it for awhile and didn't care for it (same as with beatnik).

KG.........Boss, well said, thank you.........again all i am trying to do is canvass popular opinion to see if there is a case for a Rainlendar library

Personally I don't use Rainlender either, but I would think there is a lot of people that would love if there was a library for it.
I also agree with Leo that there are far more people using Rainlender than DesktopX and that would be a good reason for including it in the libraries section.

It wasn't that long ago that we had this discussion but... I like Raindendar and it seems that most of the new skins I'm getting are included with Sysmetrix DL's. It would be great to have a section at Wincustomize but if bandwidth is the issue then its no problem to source them from a different site.

Where did he say that?
Do you realize that DesktopX is part of Object Desktop?  (It also has almost 2,000 themes and Objects.)  The biggest library I could find for Rainlendar is 71.  And, the people who make Rainlendar don't even have a skins library on their own page.

If you don't use Rainlendar, why not?  Why say "add it" if it is not something you use?  I'm *not* saying that it is a bad little program.  However, I would like to hear from people who actually use it.

Little_Jerry, you don't have to answer about if you know that DesktopX is part of Object Desktop....because it's obvious that you do after I looked at your posted screenshots

KG........i do not wish to appear a "smart alec" but the largest library that i can find is more than you have stated. DA has around 200 Rainlendar skins.

i too would love to see a rainlendar section on this site..it would be great..it wouldnt add a lot of traffic to the network because the files are small..and there are a lot of great skins that rainys can be made for. And we also have DX Object looking rainys..that would be cool to have them on the rainy section too. Thanks for starting this section and i hope that with all the inputs..the rainy section could be added on the wonderful wincustomize library. thank you....PhrozenMenace

I too would like to see a rainlendar section. That way I would not have to include them along my sysmetrix skins.
Thanks LoneCactus

Look at post #2.
Yes I do know what Object Desktop is. However that has nothing to do with my opinion that a lot of people use Rainlender and therefore it would be nice to have a library for it. This thread is about what people think about it and I don't think you have to use it to make a comment.
