Start 11 never combine taskbar buttons

Any chance you could add option to never combine taskbar buttons and/or when taskbar full? For some reason wise people at Micro$oft decided we only need these tiny little buttons that look barely any bigger than tray icons on ultra wide monitors...

I will gladly buy the software after this fundamental function has been added

(the competition, startisback, already offers)

I agree, the never combined tabs are in fact very useful and I would go as far as to say it is a must have feature.

Honestly, that may be the one and only thing preventing some people from coming over to start 11.

As mentioned elsewhere, we are looking into what other taskbar features people would be interested in.

Take a look at open shell, startisback, 7+ taskbar tweaker, etc... Shouldn't be hard to see what features people want.

I think the never combine taskbar buttons is about it. The only other thing I may want it is to resize the taskbar somewhere between the medium size and small size.

As far as the competition mentioned, I wouldn't really focus on their other stuff. Start 11 has a winning strategy in embracing what windows 11 does right and adapting to a modern look and feel. For example, I don't think diving into rolling back the explorer menu to ribbons is needed or things like that because start11 is designed to compliment windows 11 not overhaul it. Adding pages to the windows 11 theme exemplifies what stardock is doing right here. In spite of doing things right, it just so happens that never combine taskbar buttons happens to be a really good idea.

Neil, in the thread "Suggestion: Ungroup Taskbar [Start11]" located here: https://forums.stardock.com/506843/page/1/#3820353

I put my two cents to discussion of what should really be done (and incentives me to move to Win11) regarding Win11 taskbar disaster, I have even suggested to make a stand alone product "Taskbar 11" but if these features will be integrated to Start 11 - it would be even better. In short - I expect the classic taskbar behaviour in Win11 - i.e. ability to group taskbar icons only when taskbar is full, windows previews/description, ability to easily pin the icons I need to taskbar and the most important of all - ability to automatically open the program when the file is dragged to a taskbar icon. Without this functionality I won't install Win11, and I do not trust startisback cause I don't know this developer but use Stardock products since the days of previous MS disaster Win8 :)

If you will be able to get back all the features of taskbar we use and love - it would REALLY be cool! :)

One thing is for sure. Windows 11 definitely needs modifications...

I would go as far as to say windows 11 doesn't even have a taskbar anymore. They took it away and replaced it with an app launching dock which doesn't make a whole lot of sense because they also have an app launching start menu. So essentially Windows 11 has 2 app launching designations and no taskbar.

It really would be nice if they just updated ObjectBar for Windows 10/11. I think it would solve some issues & just make it nice to have a custom taskbar again.

Eagerly awaiting v1.1, but until then Valinet's ExplorerPatcher complements Start 11 perfectly insofar as the 2 together provide a full Windows 10 Start & Taskbar experience - and no more complicated  an install than dropping a DLL into the Windows folder

start 11 v 1.1 is going to make me run out of things to complain about 8C

That is really weird because when it comes to windows 11 I am used to having plenty to complain about. Now what will I do in place of my time angerly sifting through open explorer tabs all stacked on top of each other or feeling the annoyance of the recommendation section that just wont go away in the start menu XO

Waited for more than a month now and nothing from Stardock on this issue yet so I uninstalled Start11 and purchased Start Is Back which not only has this option but allows dragging items onto taskbar as well...

Isn't Start Is Back and explorerpatcher the exact same thing? A registry hack that tricks Windows 11 into downloading and using Windows 10 's taskbar. I am pretty sure Stradock is going the route of completely rebuilding the taskbar and making its own custom software from scratch which is better but takes a lot more time then a registry edit does.

Sorry this thread was missed but we have announced that v1.1 is targeting taskbar features as 1.0 was mainly about menu features.  This was posted elsewhere on the forums.

I don't know the technicalities of both apps, but I do know I can't get Start11 & SIB to coexist as the start menu constantly reloads in a loop. ExplorerPatcher and Start11 get on just fine.

However, yes, will ditch it as as soon as v1.1 is out, would much prefer an integrated solution

So you are saying that update 1.1 will have the function of never combining taskbar buttons? When is this update scheduled for release? I'm just waiting for this to buy Start 11.. *_*

Hello. I just downloaded Windows 11 and paid for Start11 because I had great memories of Start10. I love categorizing my apps in my start menu. But I wish I had this feature to never combine in the taskbar / combine only if many things. It's frustrating not having that.

I tried Start is back : better taskbar but I don't like their Start menu. Obviously the two apps aren't compatible.

Thank you good sir.

I found out that Explorer patcher was compatible with Start11. Therefore I can continue to enjoy Start11.

Do you know when the next version will be out ? Will we be inform through the application ?

I wish you bon courage.

As I wrote above No ETA yet for next version

but there will be mention when ready .

One more vote from me - uncombining tabs is the only thing missing as far as I'm concerned.  I have been using Start 8, 10 and now 11 for years and years.  What I like about Start 11 is the tile customizations, I have been able to re-create (partially at least) my Win 8.1 customized start screen made with Obly Tile, which made me a happy camper!  Now if I could only customize the tile icons...

I was kind of reticent to install ExplorerPatcher, not knowing how it would affect Start 11.
