I need this option as well.  I also want to be able to right click and drag to re-order taskbar buttons / programs.

We surely need the never combine option on the taskbar. We also need to be able to choose different start buttons, cause its not working now with the upgrade to 11. And you can't switch to the square corners on the windows, its not working. Please help us out.

Yeah i'm desperately waiting for the feature to be implemented, Who at Microsoft thought it be a good idea to remove simple functionality like that..

I really hope the guys behind Start 11 bring it back.. There is alternative solutions to bring it back but they interfere with start 11 so until then i'm going back to win 10.

I don't understand why MS would get rid of this, it was SO much easier to see where certain things were!!! I would love this in start11

At the risk of upsetting the developers of this program by mentioning a different product, let me comment that if you need never combine, as I do (who wouldn't), you should take a look at a similar product (https://www.startallback.com). It's the one I'm using. And no, I'm not affiliated to them in any way, I'm just a user.

I hope this helps until Start11 implements the never combine option, then I'll probably switch back to Start11, which overall has more options than StartAllBack.

Cheers.

Well that was a lie.
Version 1.1 and we still can't do something as simple as "never combine" programs in the taskbar...

As was noted when 1.1 came out  some other features arrived sooner than we thought we could get them done so they went out as 1.1 and the taskbar will be 1.2

If it helps think of 1.1 as 1.05.

I didn't realise that but fair enough. Might as well roll out the features that are already ready.

At least it'll come eventually =)

Win11 is just so frustrating without it

For those that cant' wait, there's a utility (among all the other already available utilities) called "Actual Multiple Monitors" that can fix the taskbars.

Do a search for ExplorerPatcher. Gives you everything you want and is 100% compatible with Start11

ExplorerPatcher for "never combine" and Start11 for menu start from W10.

Can confirm, Start11 alongside ExplorerPatcher is a b-e-a-utiful!!

Ideally, Start11 should just be able to do all we need without having to run yet another 3rd party program to fix Windows 11's BS.
Especially considering Start11 actually costs money! I do believe it's early days though and eventually Start11 will get there =D
For now though, Start11 + ExplorerPatcher  = actual functionality.
