well that's not fair.. I made those myself and they are better looking then most of the copied msn6 ones, I mean.. those were simply rezied and resampled! I've actually might have seen those elsewhere on msn!!!! and some of these really easy simple watermelon ones that anybody can do those get posted!and the halo one got posted just because it was from a game that was popular! this just is not fair to those who dont shell out alot of money for those espensive 3d programs... i used fireworksMX. I gave credit to cisco. I love cisco! and I think other cisco fans would have liked those wallpapers. I put them on a webforum and I got a ton of downloads!!! I have to say this, but I dont think that a good enough percentage of work that does get submitted ever even goes on here... that make for a lack of fresh "new" wallpaper, you guys just want to post the usual 3d stuff and not want a new style of wallpaper on here. maybye people are tired of the usual stuff... I am one who changes the WP constantly. and I have not found a good enough reason to come back since there are only a lucky "few" new ones a week!!! I really dont get this whole "moderated" thing! Let the users decide what wallpaper looks good and not some moderators!!! thanks for looking.

princess, I hate to say this but fair doesn't come into it...

You submit something from consideration and if it is not posted in say a week, you send an email and ask for some constructive in put on what was seen as needing improvement so you can reach a point of your work being accepted.

Posting of Walls is seen as a privilage, not a right.

Actually I see it as a positive process because it lends to those who really aspire to be posted on the site to improve and grow artistically.

If this was a *Wall* site then yes it would not be fair for some and not others to be accepted as long as all the submissions where the creation of the respective person making the submission.

Well, I see it as anyone's "right" to post something on the web, but this site belongs to someone, and if you had a site and someone wanted you to post something on it that you didn't want on your site, do you think you'd let them?

To reiterate:

There are plenty of sites that do not have moderation and will accept whatever you choose to upload. This isn't one of them.

Why do you think any specific site is in some way obligated to post everything and anything that you want to upload? If you pay for hosting, yes. But that isn't the case here. It's up to the site owner and admins how they run it.

well if it harms the "site" the I understand.... but otherwize.... art is art.... this site should not be like a record label where it is that hard to get even a simple wallpaper posted on here! I disagree with this level of "moderation" I've seen worse thrown togher and even worse COPIED ones being posted on here! and mine is totally original and I spend a good 1/2 hour on it. I would like to say I am sorry for going overboard but it really is not a good idea to make it this hard just to have a wallpaper on here!

Jafo's an animal!! Your the man! I'll send you my helment and pads if these people keep taking pot shots at you! Dang! I don't quite understand what the big deal is! I think the knowledge of moderation encourages me to only put my best work up. Which in turn encourages one to improve his skills. Unfortantely putting a Yugo on a Rolls-Royce lot doesn't raise the value of the Yugo, it causes a drop in the value of the Rolls-Royces on the lot. I personally feel the satisfaction of working to produce something I can get through moderation brings a much greater personal satisfaction.

The wallpaper section is for wallpapers, not 'art' as such, hence the name.....hard concept to get a handle on....but 'wallpaper' means wallpaper....

princessangry, please learn more about this site.  We are not an "art" site.  We are a "skinning" site.  The wallpapers are here as an enhancement to the skins.  We moderate wallpapers.  We have always moderated wallpapers and we always will moderate wallpapers. 

Please do not post multiple threads on the same subject.

Also, please realize that there may be quite a few people laughing at you over the fact that you called the "watermelon" an easy wallpaper to make, but you spent a "good 1/2 hour" making yours.  The watermelon probably took about 4 or 5 *hours* to make.  I know people who have spent days on wallpapers.  People spend weeks making the skins that are on this site.  Please be respectful to those people. (Especially if you want them to respect you).

This site is corporately owned and funded by a private corporation named "Stardock".  The admins are non-paid volunteers who are insanely addicted to this stuff.

How about a sticky named: "Post your rants over unaccepted wallpaper uploads here". It would clean the rest of the messageboard of those annoying threads started by would-be artists with big egos crying on how WC is unfair to them.

I know this comment is maybe harsh, but I'm so fed up with all the whining that seem to happen daily over the wallpaper uploads. Geez!
