Star Sectors and multiple galaxies

One of my biggest complaints about Stellaris is the lack of a continuous zoom from the galactic level to the solar-system level.  I would hope though that the Star Sectors feature on Galactic Civilizations IV will not make the user interface more Stellaris-like?  It's a real pain on Stellaris to only be able to interact with one solar system at a time.

What would be very cool though is if the Star Sectors feature could be used for multiple galaxies.  For example, after you've conquered a single galaxy, you could then discover a means of intergalactic travel, and begin conquering other galaxies, as well as researching Kardashev Type Three technologies (only available to civilizations that can control entire galaxies, as opposed to individual star systems).

We have a smooth zoom in the game. And alternating levels of strategic information that fades in/out.

Incorporating the Kardashev Scale into GalCiv4 could make for a fun game mechanic. Maybe each level could unlock various strategic abilities that the player and other factions could use?

Extragalactic conquest would be fun and hopefully doable with Star Sectors (at least within a local group of galaxies), but integrating a new tech tree to upgrade from Kardashev Two to Kardashev Three (or higher) might end up being almost an entirely new game.  It could be worked as a spin-off perhaps for Galactic Civilizations IV, similar to how Sid Meier integrated Civilization Beyond Earth and Starships.  You can take a civilization from one game (planetary conquest in Beyond Earth) and then import it into another game for an expanded scale (galactic conquest in Starships).  Having access to multi-level gameplay (intercontinental/planetary conquest, interstellar/galactic conquest, intergalactic/universe conquest, and interdimensional/multiverse conquest, each corresponding to a different Kardashev Type), even if it's in separate games, could get pretty interesting.  On that matter, would like to see better options for planetary development and conquest (i.e. more tiles accessible per planet).
