Directory Opus 12

12.24

Directory Opus 12 Universal Installer

https://www.gpsoft.com.au/DScripts/download.asp?file=Opus12/DOpusInstall.exe
I'm using Windows 10  Pro Version 20H2 (OS Build 19043.985 (Groupy Version 1.49 Beta)

I'm using 1.49, install 05/29/21 at 09:30 pm. Have had this same problem with both versions of Groupy 1.48 & 1.49.

The following is the flow of my action.

A - I created a group and called it, OneNote-Chrome-Opus. I then save it.

B - I then go to (Application Groupy/View my saved groups).

C - I click on the above-named group and watch it load.

Result

OneNote and Chrome load as a group. (I might mention the tabs are properly named, my custom names).

Opus also loads at the same time but not as part of the group. It should be part of the 3 program group since I saved it that way.

Opus is an extremely popular replacement for Microsoft Explore.
Actually, that's a bit of a false statement. It is the replacement, plus a macro program, plus a video program, plus total hands-on control of your computer. What's the sense it does everything a techie wants and more. I will not start my computer without Opus. Opus and many of StarDock's problems make a great marriage. Believe me, the effect is worth it.

Hello,

I use Groupy a lot with Chrome and Windows Explorer 5-10 tabs, a lot of files to sort into folders, and Groupy makes my life a lot easier.

However, regularly, it starts to freeze, it lags fors 10's of seconds, and the processor ends up with loads of 25 to 70% by windows explorer, and nothing more can be done. You have to close and relaunch windows explorer.

Without Groupy, I never have these lags or freeze, and even with Groupy installed, if I put it on OFF, there are no lags or freezes.

IF I put it On, it can starts to lag after 10 minutes or 2 hours, so productivity ...  :(

Installed Groupy is 1.49.1, but it was the same with 1.48.

Windows is 10 family 18363

Thanks

Alain

Then the issue is not relevant for this thread (issues with just this version).

If you would, please create a new thread and it will be discussed there.

Are you talking to me?

Is groupy meant to remember tab positions? I seem to recall past versions did however this version doesn't. I'm not sure if it did and is just broken atm or if it was just coincidence from before.

Is groupy meant to remember tab positions?

If you mean from a saved group, it will open them the order they are recorded in the file.  However, when they respond (thus when they are actually added) can depend on other factors.

So does that mean that if I reorder the tabs after creation will it remember them if I click save group again? Or is there another means to edit the stored order? Or should I start a new thread for this?

EDIT:

Scratch that it appears it does.

EDIT2:

I can confirm it does fix issues 1 and 3 for me. I have not experienced the others.

Is thIs there a way to change the directory that the Groupy Files are in? As it is now the directories contain spaces which is an unresolvable issue with the macro program I'm using.

C:\Users\ameri\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Saved Groups
Start Menu
Saved Groups

I would like to locate the directory In a different location.

They are saved there because thats the only way to make them show in the start menu.

Does your macro program not allow " " around paths with spaces in them?

If not you could also manually run the .groupy files rather than the shortcuts to them which are located in C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Groupy
