Galactic Civilizations III patch if you don't have Crusade

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue starting the game without Crusade

To Opt-In (Steam):

  1. Select Galactic Civilizations III in your Steam Library
  2. Click the gear icon in the upper-right, or right-click the game in your list, and select Properties
  3. Click the BETAS header on the left-side of the dialog
  4. From the dropdown, select opt_in_update - Steam will automatically update your files

I added the Opt-in patch within Steam and it did not solve the problem.  Still getting the EXP2_Crusade error.

Go to the folder

\Galactic Civilizations III\DLC\

and delete the folder

EXP2_Crusade

Then run the game, you should only have to do this the first time.

Ok, that wasn't made clear in your instructions that you still had to delete the folder the first time and then from there on after the Opt-in patch works.  Confirming it worked for me.

Ignore my question - I just deleted the Crusade folder as advised above and it worked.

Steam is asking for beta access code when I choose the opt_in_update - v4.1 Hotfix Release. How do I get this or do I just delete the above stated file?

No beta code is required, just select the beta in the drop down menu and close the Properties screen.
