Copyright laws are very strict. If you cannot get permission to use something it cannot be uploaded for people to download. I can say this first hand. I made a Playboy WB using the White bunny for my husband and was not able to get permissions to upload. My husband still has the WB and loves it but I still wish I was able to share it.

if i'm remembering my copyright laws right (with some exceptions)using a logo or such things is not against copyright unless your making profit from it, and since there is no charge to dl these skins it would prolly be fine. apple and windows aren't beating anyone's doors down for using their logo's (consistently lol) but there are some things such as sport logos that are really strict that i wouldn't try. One really nice exception is for students, students can do anything they want(long as they don't try to sell it) but what the hey i don't know how to make those anyway so nevermind

For one's own personal use it's ok but distributing it without permission is a violation of copyright, even if it's free and regardless of who does it. Many discussions here about that.

it´s just not true. you can upload such things here, no matter of copyright laws. there are all kinds of reasons given as fan art, fair use, "grey area" etc. pp.

Yes Moshi. I was responding technically according to the law, not how is it occasionally (or not) observed. Although on occasion, violation of copyright is indeed given here as a reason why something was either not accepted or removed. So.....
