unable to start or load a game that req DLC. I have all DLCs

I recently bought the forbidden worlds DLC on steam. After downloading it, I was able to start a game with the DLC. However, the next time I started up the game, I was unable to load my save game. The error returned was "This save file requires the following DLC to play:" followed by a list of all the DLCs. 

I'm including a link to the screenshot of the error, as well as the save game file and settings.

Can you verify you have the DLCs enabled in the options in steam?

All DLCs are installed and enabled in steam. Additionally, when I start the game sometimes I am able to load my DLC games just fine if I rush to the load menu and load it without delay, but if I delay a while the game will disallow me from loading my game. This is not a consistent thing. Most times I am completely unable to load my game no matter how fast I try to load it (by rushing to the load menu from the game loading).

I have tried verifying the local game files, and there is usually one file that needs to be redownloaded.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game and deleted the steam files multiple times.

This is a very strange and inconsistent problem. And not one I've encountered before until I got the latest DLC.

If it's an old save it might not be compatible with the current version.

Not an old save. Same current version. And the problem is not just with the save game. It's also with starting new games, as I outlined in my OP

Next time you notice the issue, take a screenshot of the bottom right hand corner. It should say your Sins version number and whatever DLCs the game thinks are currently installed.

New player here, been having allot of trouble with this game and I cannot find similar people with the same problem so I put it to you internet experts.

 

Started a new game, thus far i have had 4-5 crashes all of them saying game files corrupt please verify install to fix this.

 

Problem is i have done this many times, verified, shut down steam then verified Shut down Pc then verified, changed download region the works. Nothing is fixing these crashes.

 

Finally now i cannot even access my save as when i try to load it it says:

 

"The following downloadable content is required to load this saved game: LEGACY OF THE ANCIENTS"

 

Problem is, i have this DLC and it is installed, and once again I verified and restarted. Nothing. Anyone heard/had of similar problems and any tips you can give would be appreciated...

Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion has no DLC titled Legacy of the Ancients. Are you sure it isn't a mod?

Same issue here.

Just revisited Sins after awhile, saved a game with three AI's and came back a few minutes later to an error saying I needed the DLC to play the save file when I didn't change my game in the minutes between playing it. Very frustrating

I'm having a similar issue. I just literally started a game this morning, saved it, and am not trying to get back on in the same day. It's been awhile since I've been on the game in general but I don't recall buying any DLC. That said, this version says I am running "Forbidden Worlds and Stellar Phenomena." 

 

So started the game this morning, saved, ate lunch, came back, and now it says that "Outlaw Sectors" is required. But why? what is the deal? Now, when I started, I also had it generate a 'random' map. so maybe it somehow was able to start me on one outside of my available DLC, but it shouldn't have.  

 

game version: Rebellion v1.975

Maybe Stardock or Steam included the aforementioned DLC at some point on an update?
