Early in the game one of my AI opponents seemed to just explode with power and has led the rest of the game. Why?

There used to be a bug causing score explosion. I do not know what caused it. I do not know if its still in the game. I do not know if that is what caused it for you.

There may also have been (another, not the same) issue with Deorcnysse town causing something like this. At least the Xtra mod description hints at that.
