I'm sure there'll be something about not entering a class-action suit against them WHEN they screw up ....something that contravenes Consumer Protection Law.

But they won't care....;)

Our software (aka crap) may destroy your computer, lose your most important documents, drive you to violence against others and/or yourself. You can complain, and you'll probably be justified, but we may not even answer you and won't do anything to rectify the situation or compensate you. On the off chance our software is actually fairly good or even excellent, count on us discontinuing it just when it has been perfected, replacing it with a total piece of new crap. We guarantee no security for your intellectual and/or financial secrets, and we will track you on the internet and read your communications, and sell any information we glean.

Like it or not, we own you and your computer. Agree, or disagree and you can't use our crappy OS.

Supreme court did rule awhile back that you cant sign away your personal rights.

MS was better under Steve Ballmer's tenure, since the leadership change, however, it's more like a feral dog wanting to take a bite from everyone.  I'm sure there'd be some who'd disagree with me re Ballmer, but Satya Nadella has just about eliminated the customer and consumer rights since taking the helm.... and why Bill Gates allows Nadella to gradually dismantle the company he built is beyond me.

Anyhow, I'm not going to get my knickers in a knot over it.  Complaining and protesting isn't going to change a thing.  It would take millions in a concerted effort to change anything, and that's not ever going to happen on any scale that would force MS' hand.

I forgot not everyone is from the US of A. I meant the supreme court in the United States of America ruled someone cant sign away their individual rights. I'm pretty sure this means the bill of rights.

A lot of times companies rely on what we dont know. This means if something serious goes wrong I could still use them.

That they do...like guarantees for a given time.  If a '12 month guarantee' flies in the face of what is considered a reasonably expected life span of a product...and the product fails within that 'expected' time...but even beyond the 'guaranteed time' it can be considered unfit for its intended use and the consumer is entitled to a replacement or refund.

Perfect example of when it's done right....years ago I had a Leowe TV give up the ghost after about 5 years....a couple of years outside waranty.  When I spoke to the shop re a replacement they were the ones who said....hang on, only 5?  You should expect 8 or 9.  It was they who said..."just bring it in and we'll do a time-for-time discount on its replacement"....saved me a couple of grand...;)

If you are in america the supreme ruled that you cant sign away your rights, so yes you can still sue based on your bill of rights. It might require lawyer. 

In Australia we have the A - triple - C [ACCC] which legislates the rights of the consumer.....and they don't muck around too much....even Apple isn't immune.  They ain't 'Niko' [film reference]...;)
